4 Then Jehoahaz sought the Lord’s favor, and the Lord listened to him, for he saw how severely the king of Aram was oppressing Israel. 5 The Lord provided a deliverer for Israel, and they escaped from the power of Aram. So the Israelites lived in their own homes as they had before. 6 But they did not turn away from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, which he had caused Israel to commit; they continued in them. Also, the Asherah pole remained standing in Samaria. -2 Kings 13:4-6

Many preachers speak of God’s favor, but few define it well. In 2 Kings 13, we are told a king sought the Lord’s favor. What happened when he did? The Lord listened to him.

At its most basic level, the Lord’s favor is God listening to our plea for help. How he helps is determined by him. However, we can seek the Lord’s favor by our prayers. The Bible says we have not because we ask not. We are told all things are possible in Christ.

So today, begin by asking. This is the key to seeking and receiving God’s favor.

Let’s talk about it on Facebook! Share your thoughts, pictures, or videos on handwriting Scripture.
