LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

Elisha replied, “Hear the word of the Lord. This is what the Lord says: About this time tomorrow, a seah of the finest flour will sell for a shekel and two seahsof barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.” The officer on whose arm the king was leaning said to the man of God, “Look, even if the Lord should open the floodgates of the heavens, could this happen?” -2 Kings 7:1-2

God gave Elisha a message. What was it? That the town that was under siege would overnight become a town of plenty. How would this be possible? Elisha did not know, but he did not doubt God.

In contrast, one of the other men of the city displayed his doubt. In the end, God’s words came true but this man did not live to enjoy it.

When I read this, I could think of only one application to my life: Stop doubting God. How many times has he answered when I thought it was impossible? He has done more than I could ask or even imagine on more occasions than I could ever recount. His ways are higher than my ways. My ideas simply cannot compete with his.

Maybe you’ve experienced this as well. If so, the application is the same: Stop doubting God. He has an amazing plan for your life. Don’t doubt it; just accept it.

Let’s talk about it on Facebook! Share your thoughts, pictures, or videos on handwriting Scripture.
