“In these last days he has spoken to us by his Son.” -Hebrews 1:2

Hebrews in an intriguing book. Unknown author, Jewish flair with lots of Old Testament references, and much attention on the role of Jesus. Yet one thing is clear–the author wants us to know God has spoken through Jesus.

He’ll go on to note that the Law was great, angels are fine, but nothing compares with Christ. Perhaps that is why the author desired to remain anonymous. He wanted the attention to center on Jesus rather than himself. It’s just a theory, but the themes in the letter indicate that the writer is all about making Jesus famous.

Don’t you wish you would run into more people whose goal was to make Jesus famous? Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame. Our celebrity culture celebrates those with name recognition much more than those who give proper recognition to “The Name.” Yet if our goal is to be more like Christ, we’ll continue to work on making him the celebrity rather than ourselves, something easier said than done.

So go for it today–make Jesus famous. Brag about him, tweet his greatness, donate a status update to quotes his words. More importantly, copy him, live like him, and long to be like him. Make Jesus famous.
