LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

That’s the name of a script I co-wrote earlier this year with Ben Eisner, who was my director of photography on Hellbound?. We are just launching the film’s social media campaign, starting with the requisite Facebook and Twitter pages. Here’s a brief synopsis:

In the summer of 1966, world famous monk and peace activist Thomas Merton falls in love with a nursing student half his age, plunging him into the most agonizing predicament of his life. As he endeavors to prevent his secret romance from being discovered by his abbot, James Fox, Merton is forced to the brink of despair, realizing he must finally choose between serving himself or serving the world.

In addition to our social media campaign, we are also actively seeking investors for the project. Our tentative schedule is as follows:

2013 – Fundraising and Pre-production

2014 – Production and Post-production

2015 – Sneak peek to coincide with 100th anniversary of Thomas Merton’s birth followed by a wide release.

Please like and follow us (as creepy as that sounds). And if you’d like more details about how you can help support this project, just contact us.
