A Christmas Blessing in Thousand Oaks, continuing legacy of pastors in politics

Last updated on: February 22, 2020 at 3:36 pm   By Bethany Blankley

In 2014, a pastor in Thousand Oaks, California, was asked to run for the California Assembly. Four year laster he was sworn in as the city’s mayor. Pastor Rob McCoy had been preaching at Calvary Chapel for more than 13 years when he was first approached to run for political office. His initial response, was “not doing that,” but after weeks of prayer announced he would run. He had 650 volunteers who backed him, campaigning for 11 straight months. Despite... Read more

What it’s like to be a Christian in China: worst persecution in over 40 years

Last updated on: February 22, 2020 at 3:38 pm   By Bethany Blankley

In recent months the communist government of China has increased persecution of Christians. Asia Harvest, a ministry helping Chinese Christians, recently reported that it “received an unconfirmed report from a long-term China missionary” who claimed that the government had murdered 314 house church Christians in recent months and hundreds more are missing. Most house church leaders have gone into hiding, Asia Harvest reports, even going so far as to disconnect their phones and other electronic devices to avoid government surveillance. Additionally,... Read more

Yet another politician gets it wrong about Baby Jesus… again…

Last updated on: February 22, 2020 at 3:45 pm   By Bethany Blankley

Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Illinois, appears to be a mini me modern-day Herod– and his apparent duplicity about mass genocide of babies is astonishing. Similar to former Speaker Nancy Pelosi comparing Baby Jesus to Baby Moses, now Gutierrez argues that President Trump’s immigration policies would have “killed Jesus.” Let’s get a few things straight. No– baby Jesus is not comparable to the illegal migrants reportedly being trafficked by globalists. No– the biblical story of Jesus’s birth, which Christians celebrate at Christmas... Read more

Disturbing: Pope Francis’s view of “Christian-Muslim peace” in Algeria defies history [video]

Last updated on: February 22, 2020 at 3:50 pm   By Bethany Blankley

Earlier this month Pope Francis remarked that the 19 Roman Catholic clerics and nuns who were killed by Islamists in 1996 “are a testament to God’s plan of love and peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims,” the Catholic Register reported. Most of the 19 killed were French citizens. The pope’s remarks come after centuries of war fought between the Roman Catholic Church and Islamic warriors, who first invaded Algeria in the late 7th century. His comments were given at a beatification... Read more

Minn. professor promotes Satanism, implies God “raped” Virgin Mary who “never consented” to becoming pregnant [videos]

Last updated on: February 22, 2020 at 3:53 pm   By Bethany Blankley

Sadly, this is not a joke. Eric Sprankle, a Minnesota State University associate professor and proclaimed satanist, says “there is no definition of consent” that constitutes God impregnating the Virgin Mary. In reality, he suggests, God may have been a sexual predator. Mary was raped. Jesus was a product of rape between a supernatural being and a human. Campus Reform first reported that the Minnesota State University, Mankato psychology professor and sex therapist Dr. Eric Sprankle recently tweeted: The virgin birth story is about... Read more

Last updated on: January 16, 2020 at 9:33 am   By Bethany Blankley

Roughly 95 percent of the northern California community located 90 miles north of Sacramento was burned to the ground by the raging Camp Fire in Paradise, California. Amidst the inferno and destruction a wooden cross remained untouched. Pastor Brandon Merrick of Our Savior Lutheran Church posted a picture of the cross on Facebook showing the cross still standing while the fires burned. https://www.facebook.com/brandon.merrick.77/posts/10218264566070734 “I hate this picture. However, I also love this picture,” Merrick wrote on Facebook. “Over the past 48 hours I have seen... Read more

Magalia church preserved amidst raging inferno

Last updated on: January 16, 2020 at 9:33 am   By Bethany Blankley

In the northern California town of Magalia, congregants and residents huddled inside of the Magalia Pines Baptist Church, and were saved from the raging inferno that destroyed everything outside of the church. As the Camp Fire sped towards Magalia in the early hours of Nov. 9, the church’s pastor Doug Crowder, helped 30 load 30 people into vehicles who were unable to evacuate and take shelter at the church. “We were in the driveway planning to leave,” Crowder told Baptist... Read more

California pastor & mayor-elect pro-tem raises the bar, responds to shooting and wildfires [video]

Last updated on: January 16, 2020 at 9:33 am   By Bethany Blankley

On November 6, Pastor Rob McCoy of Calvary Chapel-Godspeak, and a Thousand Oaks City Councilman, was elected as the city’s new mayor. On November 7, a deranged killer murdered 12 people at Borderline Bar and Grill. On November 8, raging wildfires destroyed many parts of the Thousand Oaks area, and continues to ravage California. After initially solely pastoring the 500+ congregation at Godspeak, McCoy ran for the State Assembly in 2014. He then ran and was elected as a Thousand... Read more

Sagittarius: The Conqueror

Last updated on: February 13, 2020 at 11:12 am   By Bethany Blankley

Sagittarius (November 21-December 21) is the fourth of the first group of signs in the original Christian Zodiac. Its sign points to the person, work, and triumph of Jesus Christ as the Redeemer. The hero of the story in the skies is Jesus, which Joseph Agustus Seiss says, is described in scripture as: “‘beautiful, beautiful, above the sons of man,’ endowed with every grace and invested with all authority and power. When on earth He was meek and nonresistant, not breaking... Read more
