LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

Words. Made Flesh.

An Evening With Gregory Wolfe and the Writers of Image journal’s “Good Letters” Blog

November 14 / 6:30 pm

The Jazz Bar

Eighteenth Street Lounge

1212 18th Street Northwest

Washington, DC 20036

Open Bar / Tapas

For nearly five years, “Good Letters” has provided an oasis of deep personal reflection in an often cacophonous blogosphere. Reflecting the larger mission of Image journal, “Good Letters” believes that the language of faith is best communicated as a shared journey rather than a party platform.

Please join us for an evening celebrating the power and beauty of these “words made flesh” with several of the gifted contributors to Image journal’s acclaimed blog, “Good Letters.” Drinks and tapas are on the house.

“Good Letters” bloggers who will give brief readings from their posts will include:

David Griffith

Dyana Herron

Caroline Langston

Vic Sizemore

Bradford Winters

Tony Woodlief

“Good Letters” moved this year to Patheos.com, which has quickly become the leading aggregator of intelligent blogs about the world’s great religious traditions.

For the humanists of the Renaissance, literature mattered because it was concrete and experiential-it grounded ideas in people’s lives. Their name for this kind of writing was bonae litterae, a phrase we’ve borrowed as the title for Image’s blog. Every weekday, one of the contributors offers a personal essay that makes a fresh connection between the world of faith and the world of daily life, spanning the gap between theology and experience and giving language a human shape.

Space will be limited so RSVP is required. To RSVP, please click here.

For more information, call Shauna Hagreen at (206) 281-2988. Or e-mail [email protected].
