From Geek Goes Rogue TV Editor Zach W. Lorton, who can’t believe this news wasn’t delivered in a colorful package all tied up in a bow…

One of the worst things about one of your favorite television shows ending is that you wish you could get more.  The end is near, all the signs are pointing towards certain doom, and the writing has been on the wall, in the papers, and on all the message boards for some time.  And yet, hope springs eternal.

Today, I give you, the Breaking Bad fun, glad tidings of great joy:  Breaking Bad, it turns out, is the gift that keeps on giving.

First of all, Breaking Bad‘s co-executive producer Peter Gould tweeted on Thursday that the final two episodes of this fine program will be 75 minutes in length each, including commercials.  That means we all get an additional 30 minutes of BB goodness.  That also means that in order to catch it all, you’ll need to adjust your TiVo, DVR, or if you’re still old school, your VCR accordingly if you can’t watch it live.  Don’t be left in the dust like someone we know…

Speaking of Breaking Bad goodness, or should I say, Goodman, AMC revealed over a week ago that plans are in motion for a Breaking Bad spinoff starring none other than Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman.  The working title is “Better Call Saul”, and the show will cover the evolution of Goodman’s character as a prequel to the events in Breaking Bad.

All I can say is that I am a very happy man.  Now all that has to happen is for Breaking Bad to win the Emmy for Best Drama this weekend, and all will be right with the world.  Here’s hoping…

Zach W. Lorton is a media producer and professional DJ/MC by trade, and a comedian, actor, and musician by default.  His debut music project is set to begin recording in 2014, and will likely take the world by storm, possibly in the form of a Sharknado.
