LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

Today marks four years since the death of Pope John Paul II, one of the most influential and pastoral figures of the twentieth century. I don’t have much to add, but here are some wonderful photos.

Pope John Paul II kisses the forehead of 20-day old Louise carried by her mother Anne Carnapete from France outside Paris's St Etienne-du-Mont church where the Pope celebrated a Mass for World Youth Day.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.

And let perpetual light shine upon him.

 May he rest in peace.

 Amen.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Amen.
