Behold Your God: Fix your eyes on Jesus. Our hope is not merely in the God who rules and overrules, omnipotently from above. Our hope is in the God who has drawn near in the person of his Son. To behold your God is not merely to worship his transcendence, but to be comforted by his immanence. Jesus, our Immanuel, is near and his presence makes all the difference.

He doesn’t side with any political party, but he does side with all who have faith in him. And he promises to be faithful until all things have been made new. Perhaps the silver lining in this crazy election cycle is that we will loosen our grip on false hopes and cling to the only one who is worthy of the word “hope.”

We were made for more than cynicism. At the side of our Savior believers can move out and make this election week better than it would be without us.
