Yesterday on “Today,”Host Matt Lauer asked Donald Trump about North Carolina’s new law requiring people to use bathrooms based on the gender written on their birth certificates.

Trump said North Carolina shouldn’t have passed this law, since so very few problems existed. Though he called it “strong,” he said the state is paying the price with the economic repercussions.

Ignored by Trump is the fact that the Left is trying to shove political correctness down our collective throats. North Carolina’s new law was a necessary defensive move, to try to thwart the ever encroaching liberalism. For example, Target recently declared that men are welcomed to use the ladies’ room, if they want. (This caused many to lament “pedophiles have a new place to shop!”)

Lauer ask Trump what would happen if Caitlyn Jenner walked into Trump Tower and needed to use the restroom. He responded Jenner could use any bathroom at Trump Tower.

At this point, it’s hard to imagine anything Trump says could impact his biggest fans’ affection for him, but I’d venture to say this latest position puts him at odds with the base of the GOP and with common sense.
