Christian athlete Tim Tebow has been mocked relentlessly for his faith and values.

When reporter Clay Travis asked Tebow about whether he was saving himself for marriage, he said he was living by the Biblical standards of sexuality. (Oddly, this caused him to be the object of desire for many married women, as details from the hacked site Ashley Madison revealed.)

Confidenti@l magazine is now reporting that Tebow’s girlfriend, Olivia Culpo, has broken it off with him because she couldn’t persuade him to forsake his vows:

“He was really into her,” Confidenti@l was told by a source close to the model. “He was sending her love letters and cute notes and professing his love for her. “She had to break up with him because she just couldn’t handle it. He still hits her up, but she just can’t deal with the sex thing. He’s pretty adamant about it, I guess.”

Culpo, a former Miss USA, responded to the news about the reason behind her break up with this:

I know Tebow is not being persecuted for this faith like many people chained in prisons across the world are at this very moment. However, as the culture becomes increasingly hostile to Christianity and its tenants, it’s good to remember Matthew 5:10:

God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
