I wonder. If Jesus spoke a new sermon on the mount, what might he say…
Today, I come before you with a heavy heart, observing the state of the world and the actions of those claiming to follow me. I see hatred and discrimination prevailing in the name of religion. But let us remember the essence of my teachings, the message of love and compassion that should guide our every action.
Blessed are those who recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every human being, regardless of their race or ethnicity, for they shall be true ambassadors of equality.
Blessed are those who actively work to dismantle systemic injustices and prejudices that perpetuate discrimination, for they shall be catalysts of societal transformation.
Blessed are those who stand in solidarity with the oppressed and marginalized, advocating for their rights and amplifying their voices, for they shall be instruments of justice and change.
Blessed are those who open their hearts and extend a helping hand to the poor, the needy, and the vulnerable, for they shall be beacons of compassion and sources of hope.
Blessed are those who prioritize fairness and equity, seeking to level the playing field for all, for they shall contribute to a society that fosters equal opportunities and shared prosperity.
Blessed are those who challenge the structures and systems that perpetuate inequality, for they shall be agents of transformation and advocates for a more just world.
Blessed are those who foster inclusion and embrace the diversity of God’s creation, for they shall experience the richness of humanity’s tapestry.
Blessed are those who extend love and acceptance to all, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, for they shall be agents of healing and love.
Today, I challenge you to examine your hearts and confront the biases or prejudices that linger within. Let us seek to understand and celebrate the beauty of kindness, equality and diversity, for it is in embracing our differences that we truly honor the wondrous tapestry of the universe.
If you claim to follow me, may your actions and words reflect the love and compassion I showed during my time on Earth. Welcome and uplift every person, regardless of their race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or status in life.
Create a world where love conquers hate, and where those in the church truly embody the teachings that I shared with you.
May we have ears to hear.
