BUSH “LEGACY” FINISHED– Should We Have Attacked the Saudis-Not Iraq? I Told You The Saudi-9/11 Story was Going to be HUGE NOW NYT TOP OF THE PAGE HEADLINE 2015-03-12T17:34:56-06:00 Frank Schaeffer

George Bush and his oil cronies betrayed America. Period. Before the Saudi-Bush-9/11 story is over, he won’t only be remembered as the worst American president ever, but as a traitor. Just wait. This is the story that will define the Bush legacy and the 2016 election too. Goodbye GOP.
Just check out the New York Times headlines today. And remember that yesterday in, “Is This the Dirtiest Secret in American Government History? Did Bush Know it Was Saudi Arabia that Orchestrated and Paid For 9/11?” I picked this up as THE next big story and wrote:
“No, this is not some roll out of a wacky conspiracy theory. The New York Times just broke a story that –if true– HAS HUGE implications. We know that Bush foolishly attacked Iraq, that had nothing to do with 9/11. But what if Bush/Cheney did that while knowing that our “allies,” the Saudi royal family, had paid for Al Qaeda, trained them and were personally behind the 9/11 attacks?”
NOW TODAY the FRONT PAGE of the Times is dominated by the story.
WASHINGTON — A still-classified section of the investigation by congressional intelligence committees into the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks has taken on an almost mythic quality over the past 13 years — 28 pages that examine crucial support given the hijackers and that by all accounts implicate prominent Saudis in financing terrorism.
Now new claims by Zacarias Moussaoui, a convicted former member of Al Qaeda, that he had high-level contact with officials of the Saudi Arabian government in the prelude to Sept. 11 have brought renewed attention to the inquiry’s withheld findings, which lawmakers and relatives of those killed in the attacks have tried unsuccessfully to declassify.
AND THIS in Another FRONT PAGE STORY
Saudi Arabia continues to be haunted by what some suspect was a tacit alliance with Al Qaeda in the years before the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Those suspicions burst out in the open again this week with the disclosure of a prison deposition of a former Qaeda operative, Zacarias Moussaoui, who claimed that more than a dozen prominent Saudi figures were donors to the terror group and that a Saudi diplomat in Washington discussed with him a plot to shoot down Air Force One.

Claims Against Saudis Cast Light on Secrets of 9/11 Report
By CARL HULSE 2:53 AM ET
New claims by a former member of Al Qaeda that he had high-level contact with officials of the Saudi Arabian government have fueled calls for President Obama to declassify a section of the 2002 investigation by congressional intelligence committees into the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
