The Muslim country (Pakistan), which has banned content on at least 17 websites to block “offensive” and “blasphemous” material, is the world’s leader in online searches for pornographic material. Meanwhile IN THE USA- the Southern Bible Belt (Garter Belt?) is the #1 PORN user in the USA. Birds of a feather..?

According to Google surveys and Gallup Polls, Southern evangelicals in the USA and conservative Muslims–in places like Pakistan and Iran and Saudi Arabia –stand united in their love of — PORN.

Research has found that watching pornography increases tolerance towards gays by heterosexual men. Specifically, porn causes straight men to be more supportive of same-sex marriage rights. The researchers state:

Our study suggests that the more heterosexual men, especially less educated heterosexual men, watch pornography, the more supportive they become of same-sex marriage

This exposure to homosexual sex (lesbian sex) has made white Southern males more forward thinking on the idea of equal rights for same sex marriages for both lesbians and gays.

Maybe there’s even hope for Franklin Graham.In remarks broadcast Easter Sunday 2014, on ABC’s “This Week,” Graham compared gays to people living in adultery, but added that he’s a sinner too and that God forgives people who repent and turn from their sins. He also said that Vladimir Putin did “what’s right for Russia” by signing a law banning gay propaganda to young people. Graham added, “We used to have a president in this country that did what’s right for this country, but we don’t seem to have that right now.” The son of evangelist Billy Graham said his ailing 95-year-old father is doing “a little better” lately and “his mind is still sharp.” Maybe someone should sit Franklin down for some porn watching or if he won’t do that, at least send him my new book WHY I AM AN ATHEIST WHO BELIEVES IN GOD: How to give love, create beauty and find peace… or do both!)

Pakistan tops the list. Here’s the WikiIslam/Google information:

Google ranks Pakistan No. 1 in the world in searches for pornographic terms, outranking every other country in the world in searches per person for certain sex-related content.

Pakistan is top dog in searches per-person for “horse sex” since 2004, “donkey sex” since 2007, “rape pictures” between 2004 and 2009, “rape sex” since 2004, “child sex” between 2004 and 2007 and since 2009, “animal sex” since 2004 and “dog sex” since 2005, according to Google Trends and Google Insights, features of Google that generate data based on popular search terms.

The country also is tops — or has been No. 1 — in searches for “sex,” “camel sex,” “rape video,” “child sex video” and some other searches that can’t be printed here.

Google found that of the top 10 countries – searching for sex-related sites – six were Muslim, with Pakistan on the top. The other Muslim countries are Egypt at number 2, Iran at 4, Morocco at 5, Saudi Arabia at 7 and Turkey at 8. Non-Muslim states are Vietnam at 3, India at 6, Philippines at 9 and Poland at 10.[1]

Cairo was the #1 city that searched for “sex” on Google. Sabbah provides a few graphs detailing who’s searching for sex on the internet. Here is who searched for sex by region:Arabic is the 2nd most common language that is used to search for “gay sex.” It’s the number one language for search involving “sexy.” As you can see in that same graph, Iran is at 3 and Egypt is at 4, listed under regions where search on “sexy” was most conducted.Arabic is the 2nd most common language that is used to search for “gay man.” The countries that most search for this is currently Malaysia (#1) and Indonesia (#2). For “gay girl,” Arabic is also the 2nd most common language.For “child porn,” Turkey is the 2nd country where this is most searched. Turkish is the #1 language used.Turkey has one of the most searches for the word “porno.” Morocco is at 5. Turkish is #1 language used to conduct the search in. Indonesia is currently #1 country that search for the word “vagina.”

Egypt is currently #1 for “fat sex.”

The Bible Tells Me So Meanwhile back in Bible-land USA… The Bible Belt is the Porn Belt. According to a new study, the more you say you literally believe in the Bible, the more you watch porn. At least that’s the inevitable fact-based conclusion drawn from the biggest study of internet Google porn searches by region. Here’s some excerpts from a brilliant article by Valerie Tarico first published in Alternet that proves the point. (Reprinted by permission.)

…studies consistently demonstrate that people in [red-state] conservative religious [regions] search for adult materials online far more often than people in blue states. Ever since Freud first started publishing his theories, psychologists have had a fascination with what he called “defense mechanisms“:

Denial means simply refusing to acknowledge that some event or pattern is real.

Repression involves pushing uncomfortable thoughts and feelings to the far recesses of the subconscious mind.

Reaction formation is saying or doing the opposite of what you really want but won’t allow yourself to express.

Projection means assuming that others share the impulses, feelings, and vices that you find unacceptable in yourself…

In October, two Toronto researchers, Cara MacInnis and Gordon Hodson, published a study in which they used Google Trends to analyze porn searches. Individual search records are protected by privacy laws, but it is possible to compare the popularity of search terms across various regions or states, which is what they did. Specifically, MacInnis and Hodson linked state level information from Gallup polls asking about religious and political attitudes together with a variety of sex and porn-related search terms… their findings are in keeping with information from other sources: Business professor Benjamin Edelman at Harvard found that states with more traditional views of sex and gender have higher rates of paid porn subscriptions—meaning people who are willing to put porn on a credit card…

…SO Will PORN (Eventually) Change Radical Right Wing Christians and Radical Muslims (Like the Saudis) Into Nicer People? Who knows.
