- God’s Not Done With You Yet
God’s Not Done With You Yet

Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
When the marriage ended, you prayed harder than ever — but he still walked away.
When the children grew up, you prayed they’d stay close — but the phone doesn’t ring, and holidays pass in silence.
Now, in the quiet of your house, surrounded by photos that feel more like ghosts than memories, you whisper the question that sits heavy on your heart:
God, where are You? Did You forget me?
I’ve been there — in that hollow space between what was and what is.
That fear that maybe your usefulness is over. That maybe God loved you for one chapter, but the story has already closed.
But friend, that is not who God is.

The God Who Sees
Even when everyone else seems to have moved on, He sees you. He sees the woman who held her family together with bare hands. He sees the prayers whispered through tears, the loneliness you hide behind busyness, the courage it takes just to get out of bed.
You are not invisible. You are not forgotten.
This season may have stripped away the roles that once defined you — wife, mother, caretaker — but it cannot strip away your worth. Beneath the sorrow, you are still the same beloved soul you’ve always been.
And He is still here. Quiet, steady, patient — waiting for you to lift your eyes again.
Beauty From Ashes
You may be sitting in ashes right now: the ashes of a broken marriage, fractured relationships, or the emptiness of a home that used to hum with life. The ashes of dreams you thought would last forever.
It’s natural to want to brush them away — to tidy up the pain, to move on quickly. But sometimes, the ashes are where the new life begins. They become the soil where resilience grows, where courage takes root, where something unexpectedly beautiful begins to rise.
You are not being punished. You are being rebuilt.
Your heart is being re-shaped to hold new love, new purpose, and new joy — even if it’s not the life you once imagined.
Stepping Into Your Next Chapter
Healing isn’t a lightning bolt. It’s a slow unfolding. You don’t need a master plan for your life right now — just a willingness to take one small step forward in faith.
- Pray honestly. Forget perfect words. Speak from your heart. “I’m scared.” “I’m angry.” “I don’t know what comes next.” God can handle your truth — He’d rather have your honesty than your performance.
- Anchor in reminders of hope. Keep words that steady you — in a journal, on your mirror, on sticky notes around the house. Let them be louder than despair.
- Serve from your scars. Reach out to someone who’s hurting. Volunteer, mentor, or simply listen. Purpose often returns when we pour love back into the world.
- Open your hands. Release what’s gone, and trust that new gifts will come. Life has a way of surprising us when we stop clinging to what used to be.
A God of New Adventures
God isn’t just patching up your past. He’s inviting you into something new.
Maybe it’s traveling with a group of women who share your faith and laughter.
Maybe it’s finally writing that story that’s been living in your heart.
Maybe it’s creating art, music, or words that speak healing to others.
Maybe it’s mentoring a younger woman who’s walking the same painful path you once did.
These are not consolation prizes. They’re invitations — to experience God’s goodness in ways you never could when life was neat and predictable.
Because this season isn’t lesser. It’s not leftovers. It’s a deeper, quieter, more intentional chapter — one that invites you to walk closer with Him, freer of other people’s expectations.
The Woman Rising
You may not recognize yourself yet. That’s okay. You’re still becoming. The woman who is emerging from this heartbreak is wiser, braver, and more compassionate than the one who came before.
So take a deep breath. Wipe your tears. Step to the window and look at the horizon.
I invite you to join a growing community of women who are rebuilding at www.realmomlife.com
