Sometimes the shortest verses pack the hardest punch.  When it comes to verses about money, the Bible is no different.  I’m always amazed with how clear the Bible is when it comes to stewardship and money management.

As a challenge, I decided to see if I could find one verse in the Bible to sum up one aspect of money.  Whether you’re talking about stewardship, debt, investing, or savings, these single Bible verses really puts things into perspective.

If you’re looking to completely change the way you look at money, I would encourage you to memorize these verses.

Generosity in One Verse

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Stewardship in One Verse

Luke 12:48 (b)

From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

Investing in One Verse

Proverbs 15:22

Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

Saving in One Verse

Proverbs 30:25

Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer

Work in One Verse

Colossians 3:23

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,

Debt in One Verse

Proverbs 22:7

The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

Greed In One Verse

Proverbs 28:25

A greedy man stirs up dissension, but he who trusts in the LORD will prosper.

Money In One Verse

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
