What the &#%%#^#^ did I just blog? Pornograhpy part 2

Last updated on: March 19, 2012 at 11:55 am   By Grace Sandra

For the past few days I have been thinking “what the $#^%$&^% did I just blog?  About pornography?  About me?!?!?!” On my run today I was listening to the TED talk; Doctors Make Mistakes, Can We Talk About That? by: Brian Goldman. After his talk, I was glad blogged on pornography...and…me. Brian helpfully admits how he started his profession trying hard to never make mistakes because perfection was expected.  Yet, no matter how hard he tried he misdiagnosed or missed... Read more

“May you live in interesting (pornographic) times.” -Chinese Proverb

Last updated on: March 15, 2012 at 4:45 pm   By Grace Sandra

Okay, so I revised it.  The real proverb is “May you live in interesting times.”  As soon as I read that today, I thought about pornography. Yep, pornography.   I thought about raising two sons who will grow up to be horny teenager boys like everyone else but have the ease of pornography at their fingertips, unlike the majority of us over-30 types. What I Wore Wednesday – California version =)

Last updated on: March 14, 2012 at 4:21 pm   By Grace Sandra

I’m excited today to show you some of the pics taken from the backyard of the C’s house where I got to vacation last week for 3.5 days.  It wasn’t Wednesday but I forced asked my colleague Cristina to take pictures of my outfit for my next “What I Wore Wednesday” post. I don’t always get dressed on Wednesdays, y’all. I don’t think that should be held against me, do you? =) I don’t love these pics of me, but... Read more

A lot of penis talk going ’round these parts…

Last updated on: March 12, 2012 at 1:52 pm   By Grace Sandra

The other day I was changing the 2 yr. old, R2.  While I bent down to throw away and the old diaper and get a new one, Rhysie put his bum down on the plastic changing table found it to cold and started gyrating his hips up and down.  He started giggling and said, “Look, Mama.  I shaking my penis!”  When he saw that I laughed he kept going, cackling all the way… “I shaking my penis,” over and over... Read more

anxious vacation

Last updated on: March 6, 2012 at 4:07 pm   By Grace Sandra

I left for Caleeeeeeeefornia (as the 6 yr. old would say) last Friday. The plan was to rest & retreat until Tue. morning when we’d leave for IV’s National Multi-Ethnic Conference.  Rest & retreat =  spend time with the Lord while trying hard not to use the extra time to blog, work on my book, respond to emails or do anything work related.  Peeps, holy carruthers this has been so hard… (more…) Read more

Have Character? Thoughts to end Black History Month…

Last updated on: February 29, 2012 at 7:40 pm   By Grace Sandra

I’m guest posting today for Enuma Okoro, author of The Reluctant Pilgrim.  From the post…It’s the last day of Black History month.   Is there anything exciting about ending a month where many of us aren’t even sure what exactly we are supposed to be doing during Black History Month?  Is the month set aside to merely think about what blacks have done?  I have a friend that posted important inventions by black inventors on his Facebook wall every day during... Read more

Lent

Last updated on: February 23, 2012 at 10:11 am   By Grace Sandra

Being a Minister by vocation does not mean I’m up on every important event in the Christian calendar.  In fact, yesterday I was at some work meetings and had forgotten it was Ash Wednesday until some of my colleagues invited me to join them at a 7am mass.  (more…) Read more
