WIWW – My “camping” style… (Cedar Campus Photography, Part 4)
Last updated on: May 9, 2012 at 1:26 pm By Grace Sandra
…and I use the word “camping” very loosely considering I was staying in a cabin with lights, mirrors, heat and outlets for hair accessories. Still, I’d like to think I made a sufficient effort at style for a week of “camping” while working crazy long hours (8am – 11:30pm) doing student training… The pic above was taken by Andrew, a student from the University of Michigan whom I’d never met, but happily obliged when I told him it was for... Cedar Campus Photography, Part 3 – Best of R2
Last updated on: May 8, 2012 at 12:55 pm By Grace Sandra
Carrying on with my week of the photog life…”best of” the littlest man in our fam. As proud as I am of the boys pics, I cannot wait to show you out-takes of the pics I tried to take of myself for an upcoming What I Wore Wednesday post. I was feeling downright fantastical about my budding photog skills and then I take the absolute worst. pictures. ever. A true lesson in humility. But for now…here’s my sweet little —always... Practicing This Photography Thang: Boys at the Beach
Last updated on: May 5, 2012 at 5:19 pm By Grace Sandra
my sweet lil R1… So. I mentioned last year my goal to learn photography in 2012 while seeing-where-it-takes-me. Well, here we go, bleeps and blurks! I invested in the Canon t3i, a handy how-to manual which, I have ahem, yet to read. Thus begins my photographic journey… …with perhaps the cutest set of test subjects you ever did see. *Bias, duly noted. I’m *quite* torn about whether or not to launch an official photography business because y’all know sista-girl can... Read more

You Have No Idea. Vanessa Williams new book…
Last updated on: May 3, 2012 at 12:09 pm By Grace Sandra
So. I really liked You Have No Idea by Vanessa Williams and her mother Helen Williams. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that it arrived on a Monday at dinnertime and I finished it by 1am the following day! As a biography it was an easy and a fun read. As a memoir lover, I enjoyed watching her life as reality show. As a nosy person, it was perfect…gossip via truth as opposed to an “insider” from U.S. Weekly. (more…) Read more

My instagram(ed) life… …lazy afternoon… sand angels This is my I’m-so-cold-but-I-need-the-kiddos-to-get-their-energy-out face. After getting my wisdom teeth pulled last weekend, Little Jerri Seinfeld spent a good number of hours snuggled up to me on the couch while I caught up on reading blogs and watched Grey’s Anatomy. My GLORIOUS in-laws took the kids for the whole weekend in order to allow me to relax while I healed. On Saturday night the hubs took me to see a production of Hairspray... Read more

Where Does God Talk To You?
Last updated on: April 25, 2012 at 7:11 am By Grace Sandra
God is fond of talking to me at two inconvenient times: when I’m in the shower and when I’m in bed at 5 in the morning. When I’m sleeping, he stands over my bed and pokes me. “Pst…are you sleeping?” I pretend not to hear him and roll over. Sometimes I put a pillow over my head. He keeps poking. “Psssssssst…I said…ARE YOU SLEEPING!” “Go away, God! It’s still dark outside. I’m asleep.” “Let’s chat. You wanna chat?” He perches... Read more

An email from someone who loves me very much… “You have my permission to be TASK oriented and answer with a few words as possible. How are things on the marriage front? Name one positive thing that has happened between you and the hubs lately? How are the boys treating you? How are they doing/growing? Is the semester ending well? (do you have to go to focus weeks)? Will you have a busy work summer or a relaxing one? what... Read more
