G-BISK ELSEWHERE…

be brave little man

~ Over on my Patheos channel I wrote about how I’m trying to be brave for the sake of my kiddo’s.

~ I did a podcast on the account of Jesus & the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4 alongside a few other authors of the upcoming Converge Bible studies that I’m writing for.  This was really fun to do.  From now on, I’ll be joining the other Converge authors once a month to podcast discussions on our various topics. What a gift.

MY MOST LOVED FACEBOOK #BOYMOM STATUS UPDATES…

All sorts of theological dispute in our home today…

Rhys: God, I’m scared of the thunder & lightning MAKE IT GO AWAY! (pause) Why is not going away? Maybe he didn’t hear me. Yells his prayer again.

Ran: You can’t boss God like that.

Rhys: Yes, I can. God make that thunder go away or I’ll give you a spank on the butt-butt.

Ran: (Genuinely troubled) You’re not supposed to be mean to God, Rhys. He is real.

Rhys: Yes I can! Hits the dresser. Says, God I’m hitting you!

Ran: That dresser is not God. You can’t see God.

Rhys: Yes I can! I’m hitting God.

Ran: Mama, he’s provoking God.

Me: No, he’s not. He’s 3. God loves that he’s interacting with Him. We’ll work on his theology a bit later, okay? Everything’s okay.

Ran: Well, I seriously doubt God is going to answer his prayer to make the thunder go away after calling him a dresser & hitting him.

Last night at Ransom’s soccer game, Rhysie was playing with a little 4th grade girl. They were going back forth barking out commands for a raucous round of Simon Says.

Rhysie: Simon says, touch your boobies.

Her: (looks down) stammers, I don’t have any.

Rhysie: Oh. Your right.

Me: Looks away, pretends not to know whose kid this is.

Rhysie: Maybe when you grow up you’ll get some BIG ones.

Me: Oh God. About to interrupt him…

Rhysie: …Like my Mama.

Me: All right I should probably stop him before he says something else.

Rhysie: Point’s to me, says “See!”

Me: Face Palm.
