Did you guys catch the last nights LOST epi? Crazy, eh? Well, actually Mama put me to bed.

Nothing worth having comes easily now does it?

Hi Mama's blogging friends!

Hi Mama's blogging friends!

The latest saga of weaning Rhys continues with much progress, but unfortunately a lot less sleep.

Three weeks ago, he was co-sleeping, eating 8-10 times a night & needing a pacifier every 10-20 minutes all night to fall back asleep.

Two weeks ago, we managed to cut him back to eating twice a night, napping on a schedule and no longer using the pacifier to get back to sleep.

This past week, I cut him back to eating once a night and now to none!  I kept moving his night-time feeding by an hour.  For example, one night at 1am, the next night 2am, the next 3am & so on until we got to 7am.  I also removed him from my bed, so as not to produce the desire for constant nursing.

My big brudda makes me smile! :)

Last night was his 2nd night in a row of zero night feedings with his first feed at 7am!

Do you believe I'm wearing 6-12 month p.j.'s?

Hurrah!  He’s napping regularly for up to 1.5hrs & learning to self-soothe with no pacifier.  The Babywise sleep system is in full effect.

He is still waking often at night looking for the comfort of nursing, but I am resolved to let him cry it out, learn to put himself back to sleep and allow him to learn that we don’t eat in the middle of the night.  He gets plenty of day-time calories (about five 8oz. bottles a day) so I know he’s not hungry.

*Deep Breath*

It has been exhausting.  I’ve been so tired lately. And busy.

Hey Ma, you think your the only one who's tired? I'm the one in sleep training!

I think I’m also finally facing the reality of my new position.  I.E. being copied on mountains of emails and the hardest part of all: determining what I should work on in any given day when there’s simply too much to do in my limited 20 hours of work a week.  Not to say, I’m not having fun.  I just love my job.  It’s been so wonderful to be back to work!

I love sitting in my jumper staring at a bottle of Mama's Oil Sheen while she does her "Fabulously Fit Mom's" work out video!

Needless to say, I’m having a hard time figuring out how to squeeze in blogging now that I’m taking my work-outs more seriously.  It doesn’t help that when I have a minute to sit down I’m quickly falling asleep, though typically from 4am – 7am I lay there wide awake.

Ahhh, life Rhys-ently.  Crazy but beautiful. 🙂

You know what's crazy? I have an arm! An arm! Imagine that!
