Tweet Tweet
I’m planning to tweet the labor of baby boy #2 -due on Oct. 20th- from my Twitter account if you’d like to follow along with every moan, groan & increased centimeter dilated. 🙂 I’ve got my feed hooked directly up to my facebook status updates & also right here at gabbingwithgrace.com, if you prefer.
Feed Feed
It will be an interesting experiment to see if life with a newborn will give me more time to blog while the little one suckles 16 hours a day or if in my exhaustion I’ll feel like I have no mental energy to engage any sort of thoughtful posts.
In either case, I’m moving towards disconnecting my blog from facebook where the majority of my readers come from. It’s been nice to have the carry over, but can be quite time consuming to post in two places.
I love you facebook, but I’m ready to cut out the middle man!
So, if your a random reader, a check-back-once-a-week reader, a faithful reader or a daily follower it would behoove you to either a) sign up via RSS into your google, yahoo, or whatever reader you may use. (I use igoogle & have all my daily reads delivered to my google reader –it’s the best!)
OR b) you can sign up for an email notification using the good folks at feedburner free services at the top right corner of my blog. Even if you have the notification set up to go to your junk mail folder at least you can see the title of the blog & choose to read for that day or not.
Lastly, your signing up via feedburner helps to keep me blogging & hopefully giving you more of whatcha like!
With more readers I’ll be able to get more ads (which trust me will keep me regular) but I’m also hoping to eventually get a platform of a 1,000 subscriptions which will really help me get a publisher when I’m ready to publish my book.
“Healthy” feedburner subscriptions on your blog is basically the equivalent for future writers of having an incredibly awesome resume! So, see your email subscription as an investment into me, the book & the future of the Biskies! 🙂 hahaha…okay, it’s not that deep.
Sorry Sorry
After yesterdays anger fest I got to thinking and praying last night. This came mostly after my cat Putty came into our room at 5:13am meowing like a banshee. And you guessed it, I was steaming with rage that he woke me up.
In my worldview (I follow Jesus) I believe God is in control of things. Even things that seem redonkoulously out of control like the situation in Darfur, for example. Part of my faith is that I try to trust God and believe that things are out of my hands and ultimately better off in His. I honestly can’t name one time that I’ve tried to take a situation in my own hands that its been better off. I do trust God. He’s just smarter than me. (among other things) 🙂
I realized as I prayed last night that I’m angry at Dr. Sears for being a proponent of letting your child run your life for the 1st few years of it’s existence infant demand feeding, yet here I am demanding God to force me to go into labor. That’s a bit’0’double standard doncha think?
I am the whiny baby demanding God to do what I say. Who do I think I am?
So, I apologized. And decided not to act like a whiny 4 yr. old who wants a snack. (or a newborn who wants the breast all day).
I also decided to get a little perspective. I mean hello, it’s not now or never. The baby will come out eventually. And beyond that I’m not suffering through chemotherapy or other life threatening illnesses or debilitating medicines. There is no reason to feel so doggone sorry for myself. Grow up, Grace, jeez!
