In the Case of the Missing Swiss Cake Roll Horcrux 2009-09-22T22:08:32-04:00 Grace Sandra

Though he won’t admit it fully, my husband is addicted to chocolate.  Whereas I can eat my chocolate treats slowly over the course of a week or two, he’ll devour every last piece of chocolate in our house in a day or two.

In order to make peace we decided we would each get the same amount of whatever snack & I would hide mine.  That way whenever I wanted it I could have it & he has to use the necessary will power to make his last as long as possible.

Up until now this little plan has been working.  Save for the times he’ll beg & plead for me to go get him some of my hidden morsels.

swiss1Last week -per our plan- I had hidden my box of Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls.  For some reaason I just can’t get enough of these little sugary devils.

Dave was gone at an all day meeting & I went to my secret hiding place to tear open my new box only to find it was all ready open!

I was just starting to get mad about Dave not being able to control himself when I saw this little note on the box:

IMG_7517In case you can’t read it, it says:

To the Dark Queen,

I know I will be gone long before you read this

but I want you to know it was I who discovered your secret.

I have stolen the Swiss Cake & intend to eat it as soon as I can.

I face retribution in the hope that when you meet me again,

you will be forgiving once more.

D.F.B.

Hillarious!  I couldn’t even get angry that he stole my swiss cake roll.  In case you don’t get the Harry Potter joke, he was copying a letter the mysterious, “R.A.B.” sent to Voldemort in Slytherin’s locket… which turned out to be a fake horcrux that R.A.B. stole.  He left this letter in the locket:

0007gerw

Notice the similarities between Dave’s message & R.A.B.’s.  If you can’t read it, it says:

To the Dark Lord,

I know I will be dead long before you read this,

but I want you to know it was I who discovered your secret.

I have stolen the real horcrux & intend to destroy it as soon as I can.

I face death in the hopes that when you meet your match you will be mortal once more.

R.A.B.

Needless to say, I was thorougly amused.  And it was funny to learn later that Dave had been waiting in impatient anticipation for 3 days for me to find his little note.

I love my husbands creativity!

(and consequently, I need to hide things better).
