Be Virgin

Become the “Huri” (the beautiful companion of lustrous eyes)
Be “virgin” in every moment
In surrender to the Beloved’s will
For the new experience
He desires for you.

Be “virgin” in every moment
And leave away your past life, your identity,
Your misconceptions, your prejudice, your selfish qualities,
Your pattern of behavior, your false beliefs,
Your worries and fears and your conditioning past,
And allow Divine Love to take hold of you
In the moment.

Put your trust fully on the Beloved
As He teaches you the Mysterious Ways of Love!
And let Divine Love make you.

Be “virgin” in the moment.
For in every moment a new life is starting
Impregnated with new possibilities.

Let Divine Love prepare you
For your greatest potential ever
Of experiencing proximity with the Beloved.
Let Him bring you nearer than your jugular vein!
To your true Essence!

Be “virgin’ in every moment
For this Love shatters the self
Into billions lustrous stars,
And all of a sudden through what seems a dead end
Of a black hole absorbing all lights,
You are in a parallel breath taking universe.

Be “virgin” to the moment
Fear not that which is not familiar.

Be brave and dwell into a Garden
Surrounded by every discomfort!
And dare to adopt new beautiful manners of Love
Be “virgin” in every moment.

So say not “I am not that or I am this or I can or I cannot.”
Be “virgin” in every moment.

With gaze fixed only on the Beloved,
You become a beautiful companion with illuminated wide eyes;
For what can the moon reflect but the sun’s light?

Amany Shalaby, Ph.D., teaches at the University of Spiritual Healing & Sufism. Amany graduated as an electric engineer from`Ein Shams University, Cairo, Egypt 1985. She obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Studies from Islamic College of Advancing Studies, Middlesex University, London, UK in 2002 and her Master’s degree in Comparative Philosophy of Religions in 2014 from the Islamic College of Advancing Studies, Middlesex University, London, UK.

Amany served as translator for our Guide, Sidi Shaykh Muhammad al-Jamal, and she works as a translator of Islamic books and teaches in diverse study circles across the states on Islamic spirituality. Amany is the author of The Essence of Creation, The Emanation of Consciousness and the book of poetry, Hidden Pearls.

Amany is a co-founder of Radiant Hands Inc., an organization that helps single mothers in need, and Nur Corner Institute.
