There are many variations of this kind of spell, this is just mine – It starts with a Bring to Light, then a banishing/ clearing, and ends with a bringing in resources. This is a great kind of spell for anyone who is ending a journey and preparing for their next, for New Years or Winter Solstice, or during the Phoenix Moon.
You will need 3 glass pillar candles (you can get these at a dollar tree), a permanent marker, and time. The reason you need the glass pillar candles is to slow you down, give time to the working, and give the spell time to go deep. Some are 3 day candles, 7 days, or 9 days – choose which works best for you. The permanent marker is to write your intention on the outside of the candle. The spell is completed when the candle is finished.

3 candles: I chose for mine
Candle 1: Bring to Light
Before we begin any journey, first we need to do a little “house cleaning.” The Bring to Light candle is to help show us the situations, people, or boundaries that are holding us back. Sometimes it is people who are being untrue or working against us. Sometimes it is beliefs, thoughts, or actions within ourselves that is holding us back from moving forward. Sometimes it is situations that we are not seeing clearly. During the burning of this candle, it will bring these things to your attention and give you clarity of them.
Colors are always going to depend on your connection and personal association. For the first candle I suggest, orange – red – yellow – or white. Once you have your candle, write something like this on the outside:
Bring to Light
People who are deceiving, untrue, or misaligned with me
Obstacles that stand in my way
Boundaries that are holding me back
Bring me clarity in mind, body, and soul
You can dress or add anything else to the candle that you wish, such as oils or herbs.
Hold the candle in your hands and say out loud the words you wrote. Light the candle and sit with it a bit, keeping your mind focused on the task you want it to do. If you have a safe place to burn the candle overnight and you are comfortable with that, you can just let it burn continuously. If not, then let it burn during the day/ when you are home and awake. Each day going to the candle, saying out loud the instructions you wrote on it, and sitting with it for awhile, feeding that intention into it.
You can also add a focus to help bring clarity, such as a tarot/ oracle/ or rune. Just choose one a day. Allow yourself time to contemplate it: What actions are associated with it? What questions can be made from it for you to go deeper with? What clarity is it guiding you towards.
For example: My candle has been going for two days now, and I have pulling an oracle card each day from the Season of the Witch Yule deck. Both of these cards were about feeling/ sensing your way forward, putting the logic-minded brain to the side, trusting your intuition and inner knowing above it. Sometimes a journey requires more feeling and senses, than science/ provable logic.

Candle 2: Banish and Clear
After the first candle has brought illumination and clarity – the next starts clearing out and breaking through the things that are hindering you. Same process as before: write the intention on the candle, dress as you want, light, and work the spell.
Color suggestions: Black, Dark Blue (water destruction), Red (fire destruction), or white (versatile).
Example of what can be written:
Clear away and Break
all the obstacles in my way
the people of poison
the boundaries and chains
Candle 3: Bring In
Again, same process as the others as far as preparation. This candle however is for bringing in the resources you will need going forward. Some will be inner, some will be physical world resources. You are not determining what those will be, you are allowing the energy to weave the magic needed. We can get tunnel vision, think small or from a narrowed scope, thus we want the web/ Guides to weave things things forward.
Color Suggestion: Green
Example of Words:
The room has been made
Now it is time
Bring In
The Resources I will need
The Abundance to move forward
in soul, body, and my physical life
Alternative Using Crystals
One of the Sisters is using crystals instead of the large glass candles. She is choosing one crystal to work the magic of each section. She is going to burn a small candle, say her incantation, with the stone/crystal in front of the candle. Using the candle to charge the spell into the stone/crystal. Then she will carry the crystal with her for 3-9 days – holding it in her hand, saying the spell everyday to it out loud, and let it do the work.
She is more crystal oriented so this mode is more her magic. That is always something to keep in mind – What are your tools and modes of magic? I am very candle and water oriented when it comes to spell-crafting, so that is what I share, but you can alter it to fit you just like she is.
