A nostalgic Neal A. Maxwell Quotation

Last updated on: March 29, 2013 at 12:11 pm   By William Hamblin

From John Gee’s blog, quoting Neal A. Maxwell in 1991 http://fornspollfira.blogspot.com/2013/03/todays-maxwell-quote_29.html I’ve never made any secret of my appreciation for FARMS. As I see you grow larger and become more significant, I’ll never have any greater appreciation than I did a few years back when our enemies were lobbing all sorts of mortar shells into our Church encampment and among the few guns blazing away were the guns of FARMS. . . . As big and wonderful as you will... Read more

Where are all the Religious Education Professors?

Last updated on: March 26, 2013 at 4:58 pm   By William Hamblin

Another interesting thing becomes apparent when you peruse the list of the advisory board for the new Mormon Studies Review (MSR). http://www.maxwellinstituteblog.org/announcing-the-new-mormon-studies-review-2/ No one from BYU Religious Education (or BYU affiliates or CES) appears among the advisory board or editors.  Is this because there are no legitimate Mormon Studies scholars in BYU Religious education?  Is it because they didn’t ask anyone from Religious Education?  Or is it because no one from Religious Education accepted?  And, in either case, why? This, combined with... Read more
