How Political Correctness Gets Into the Church

Welcome to the New America. Dubbed ‘God’s Comic’ by the New Yorker, for 16-years, Brad Stine has been the comedic trailblazer of politically incorrect, Christian and Conservative comedy. His new show, ‘Brad Stine Has Issues’, covers cultural issues with his signature brand of comedic sarcasm and satire with insight that will be appreciated by everyone who loves laughter, liberty, and the freedom to tell the truth without fear.

The Church has its own type of Political Correctness. It’s called “legalism”.

It’s the nonsense that has people in the Church telling you what you can do, can’t do, can drink, can’t drink, can wear, and can’t wear in order to be a good Christian.

It’s the very thing that Jesus hated throughout his whole time on earth.

You’re not supposed to judge people by where they are along life’s journey. You’re supposed to judge them by where they are going.

I think we’ve got to give ourselves more grace. And maybe it starts by allowing ourselves to do stuff that we should have been allowed to do all along.

You gotta yawn, yawn. You gotta sneeze, sneeze. Do you ever think about that? If you yawn, you feel like you have to apologize as if you’ve done something wrong. But, when you sneeze, even if you don’t apologize, you still get something – you get a “God bless you.” Why don’t you get blessed when you yawn or burp or cough? I guess these things aren’t quite as miraculous. But, when you sneeze, you get a “God bless you”, which has never made sense to me. We used to say, “God bless you”, at special occasions. If you had helped the sick and the lepers, GOD BLESS YOU! How did a sneeze weasel its way into this thing? If anything deserves a “God bless you”, it’s a yawn because at least you’re sucking germs back into your body as you inhale, cleansing the environment.

We need to be more real with people. I think that people would actually care about your belief system if you were more genuine and told people when you were flawed and struggled with stuff in life.

Enough of this legalism. It’s killing us.

I say, if you’ve gotta yawn, yawn. If you gotta sneeze, sneeze. If you gotta fart, let ‘er fly… I don’t care anymore.

I mean, look at you… “Christian boy said, ‘fart’. I can’t take that. We don’t say ‘fart’, we say ‘toot’. Christians make curse words out of words that were never meant to be bad. When you say, “toot”, does it make it smell any better?
