Last updated on: November 29, 2012 at 12:02 pm   By Desh Kapoor

A lot is said about how Eklavya – a tribal warrior – was deprived off of his archery ability by a Brahmin, Dronacharya.  It is showcased as an example of Caste system.  However, the details from Mahabharat suggest something totally different. Balaji V. sums it up very well, when he talks of how Dronacharya probably foresaw his role in the future and his loyalties. It is no secret that one of Krishna’s secret work prior to Mahabharat was to create... Read more

Last updated on: November 28, 2012 at 9:33 pm   By Desh Kapoor

Indian sports men and women have performed some pretty incredible feats at times.  In my experience, this was one win that left me teary eyed.  It was the Commonwealth Games in 2010 in New Delhi.  The event 4×400 women’s final.  Indian quartet had no record holder, while others like England, Nigeria, and Australia.  No one give the Indian team any chance.  But they just picked up and did the impossible.  In the end, they raced away with the Gold! Read more
