Darwin versus Science: Survival of the masochists! 2010-03-19T23:33:16-05:00 Desh Kapoor
Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
Modern Science is just amazing. It has been able to create babies out of test tubes and replace normal bones with metal ones. Those with real but "broken" hearts (not out of love though) have gotten plastic hearts. We are close to cloning – or may have already! How do you know if the guy you are interacting with is the "Original" or may be a fake who is in that place while the real guy is having fun on the beach?
The very structure of man is being replaced by something completely artificial and un-natural with the aim to add years to people’s life. There is a healing mechanism within every creature and every human being, that some folks delving into Pranic healing and other practices access as well. After all at the foundation of it all, everything is "Energy".
Now comes a news that there is this gene in the human body called p21 – which blocks the Human beings from growng the parts that get chopped off. Amphibians, on the other hand, quickly grow their own body parts when they get cut off. Somewhere in some weirdly amusing "Survival for the fittest" FIT.. human being decided it was not cool to regenerate stuff back. It would be rather cool to hop on one foot while running after a deer for food on a hunt.. than grow the chopped off foot back and run faster. So, as Mr. Darwin would have us believe, man – the masochist bastard that he is – thought misery helps get sympathy of the running deer who probably came back to get killed for the sake of the one-footed hunter’s small kids! And here we are, sympathy searching melodramatic human being who survived because of his long faced victim atttitude. What does he do? He goes around in search of p21 – a gene which somehow closes the ingenuity of the body to recreate the broken/cut parts.
Now, however, of course, the scientists think "Self Healing" is rather cool! To heck with Darwin’s warning that what has survived at the top of the food chain has to be the fittest thing yet! We would rather heal ourselves than run on one foot chasing deers. If we have to live we would rather run ourselves into oblivion on our two feet, both regrown if possible!
The mice have already been given a taste of this technique and they have started getting some brand new cool gifts…. out of.. well, nowhere!
Now soon it will be the turn of their cool cousin the Mickey Man. I wonder why I have been keep thinking – either Darwin was talking major Bullshit or these scientists who say that wanted to give us back what we lost long back are just plain idiots. Both can’t be correct!
Meanwhile, the mice might be secretly hoping that at least one thing that men can grow – now that there is all evidence of them having lost it somewhere – their BRAINS BACK!
