Not Sure Who Needs to Read This Today: A Message from Them

Not Sure Who Needs to Read This Today: A Message from Them 2019-07-18T14:10:38-07:00 Jenya T. Beachy

LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

I got this message yesterday. It was pertinent for me, but I think it’s meant for more than just my little self. Photo by Trust "Tru" Katsande on Unsplash

Poetry is when you can see your own feelings or observances as beautiful enough for beautiful words.

Allegiance: where does your loyalty lie? To what are you beholden? Will you be ruled by the ravages of the wind? By the crashing tumult of the pain of the world? Or will you hold fast to the slow-burning ember at the heart of yourself?

Truly, one’s greatness is defined by one’s allegiance to their deepest, highest nature. No one else can do what you are here to do. No one can bring about your true destiny on this place- or time-line but you. Wear the mantle. Go ahead! It looks heavy and it *is* for the wrong person. But for you, it fits like a glove and weighs less than a feather.

Let this truth shine through you. Let this power fill you and pour forth from your eyes, your voice, your hands. Let all you touch and see and make be a reflection of the vast beauty that is possible when you are oriented on the path that is Your Righteousness. This place doesn’t even exist for others! It can’t be seen from the edge of the woods. This walkway is merely the moving apart of branches, the sinking of obstacles like rocks into the water. As you pass, the way closes behind you.Photo by Bryan Rodriguez on Unsplash

You are steered toward your best life when you are willing to listen to the call from deep in the forest or far across the sea. Go! Go! Be alone for a while and let the voice speak into the quiet.

Do you see that glimmer across the waves? At the top of the mountain? In the darkness of the deep wild? There is a light for each of us. It is the light of your destiny. Not the achievement of the source, but the walking, swimming, sailing, climbing toward the light. And maybe your light isn’t a light at all but an oasis, or a shady spot, or a library book or a painting or the perfect paella. Moving toward that thing, that achievement, that company, is what drives your destiny.

You are already doing it! You are never not on the path! Sometimes you rest for too long, or run too fast, or stop and stare at a flower or follow a fish for a while, but you are never not on your path! It is made of movement toward your truth.

The poem that is you is writing itself in every moment. You are never going to get ‘there’. You are already there! Don’t like this ‘there’? Walk a different way. Gather different companions. Change your shoes. Get a map to the next destination.

We need you to know now that it is all underway. The ship is sailing, the Sherpas are carrying the gear. The ceilings are shattering and all souls are free.
