13 Thoughts to Ponder ~ On Spring 2015-03-25T13:54:59-07:00 Jenya T. Beachy
Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
“13 Thoughts to Ponder” will be an irregular feature designed to provide some stimulating ideas and questions to spark conversation. Meditate on what comes up for you, do some free-writing, or make it a conversation with your family, coven or working group. Enjoy as you Will!*
- The seedling is bound within the seedcase and must break out to grow. What is binding you?

- Growth is an assertive act, a reaching out to find the next food for thought or cell or belly. How do you keep yourself fed?
- The scent and color of the flowers signals to the bees to come closer, closer, yes, right there. What signals are you sending?
- The bud can only flower in its right time. How do you resist pulling the petals open?
- Planting seeds is an act of faith. Who do you trust to help you tend?
- The breath of the Earth contains every word ever spoken. Where in your world is it quiet enough to listen?
- The movement of seasons is due to our planet’s changing relationship with the Sun. Can you feel the rotation of the Earth?
- Even in Spring, there is death. Have you ever been changed beyond recognition?
- To sacrifice is to make an offering. What is the most precious thing you’ve ever given away?
- Many faiths celebrate a god who rises from the dead. Will you visit any churches this season?
- We might hear the Gods’ voices in the birdsong. Do you think the birds hear God’s song in our voice?
- The conversation of Life on Earth is never-ending. What does it take for you to listen?
- Spring is the inhalation of the year, leading to the time of fullness. Among all the other considerations of your life, how do you keep mindful of the turning of the Wheel?

*I was inspired to this idea by, among other things, John Beckett’s “Nine Things I Think“.
