I attend a weekly Book of Mormon study group.\u00a0 I was asked to lead the discussion on Mosiah 3<\/a> and 4<\/a> this week.\u00a0 As I read through the chapters last night, I couldn\u2019t help but notice that President Nelson followed the same pattern in King Benjamin\u2019s experience.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of his sermon, King Benjamin shared that his divine instruction came during the night.<\/p>\n

\n

And the things which I shall tell you are made known unto me by an\u00a0angel<\/span>\u00a0from God. And he said unto me:\u00a0Awake<\/span>; and I awoke<\/a>, and behold he stood before me.<\/p>\n

And he said unto me: Awake, and hear the words which I shall tell thee; for behold, I am come to declare unto you the\u00a0glad<\/span>\u00a0tidings of great\u00a0joy<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Sister Wendy Nelson Shared Her Personal Witness of President Nelson, His Prophetic Calling and Ministry<\/h3>\n " After marrying President Nelson in 2006, Sister Nelson had, on numerous occasions, witnessed him receive revelation from the Lord during the night, especially as general conference approached. But after he was ordained as the Lord\u2019s prophet, the revelation came with frequency and intensity.<\/a> \u201cMy husband is trying to get every bit of instruction that he can,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n For example, early one Saturday morning, Sister Nelson awoke and knew she was to get out of bed. She was not done sleeping, but she could feel the prompting to \u201cmove out of bed now.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo I went downstairs and did some family history research and then puttered with some other things,\u201d she recalled. \u201cTwo hours later, my husband emerged from our bedroom and said, \u2018Wendy, you won\u2019t believe what has been happening for two hours. The Lord has given me detailed instruction about a process I am to follow.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Other times the Lord has prompted Sister Nelson to stay close to her husband when he is receiving instruction. \u201cMy husband will say during the night, \u2018OK, dear, it is happening.\u2019 I remain quiet, and then soon he is sitting up on the side of the bed writing.\u201d<\/p>\n Sister Nelson said she never reads the private messages the Lord has for President Nelson.<\/p>\n Still, \u201cI can say that I am a witness by being present and I am a witness by being absent that the Lord indeed instructs His prophet,\u201d she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The Lord heard King Benjamin\u2019s prayers \u2026 and President Nelson\u2019s<\/h3>\n King Benjamin<\/h4>\n " For the Lord hath heard thy prayers,<\/a> and hath judged of thy\u00a0righteousness<\/span>, and hath sent me to declare unto thee that thou mayest rejoice; and that thou mayest declare unto thy people, that they may also be filled with joy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n As I read this verse, the Holy Ghost highlighted that the Lord heard King Benjamin\u2019s prayers, judged King Benjamin\u2019s righteousness, and sent a message to King Benjamin that caused him to rejoice.\u00a0 And because of his prayer and righteousness, King Benjamin could share the glad message with his people so they could be filled with joy.<\/p>\n How grateful I am that the Lord hears our prophet\u2019s prayers, judges of President Nelson\u2019s righteousness, and sends words that President Nelson can share with us so that we can also be filled with joy.<\/em><\/p>\n President Nelson<\/h4>\n " President Nelson said his wish for listeners is actually a prayer<\/a> that you will \u201cfeel the deep, eternal love our Savior has for you personally,\u201d \u201cgain your own personal witness that Jesus Christ is the Son of God,\u201d take full advantage of the Savior\u2019s Atonement by repenting daily,\u201d and \u201cuse this holiday season to begin a season of even greater personal worship.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n King Benjamin\u2019s message focused on Jesus Christ\u2019s names and mission<\/h3>\n "\n For behold, the time cometh<\/a>, and is not far distant, that with power, the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0Omnipotent<\/span>\u00a0who\u00a0reigneth<\/span>, who was, and is from all\u00a0eternity<\/span>\u00a0to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the\u00a0children of men, and shall dwell in a\u00a0tabernacle<\/span>\u00a0of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty\u00a0miracles<\/span>, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the\u00a0blind<\/span>\u00a0to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.<\/p>\n And he shall cast out\u00a0devils<\/span>, or the\u00a0evil spirits<\/span>\u00a0which dwell in the hearts of the children of men.<\/p>\n And lo, he shall\u00a0suffer<\/span>\u00a0temptations<\/span>, and pain of body,\u00a0hunger<\/span>, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can\u00a0suffer<\/span>, except it be unto death; for behold,\u00a0blood<\/span>\u00a0cometh from every pore, so great shall be his\u00a0anguish<\/span> for the wickedness and the abominations of his people.<\/p>\n And he shall be called Jesus<\/span>\u00a0Christ<\/span>, the\u00a0Son of God<\/span>, the\u00a0Father<\/span>\u00a0of heaven and earth, the\u00a0Creator<\/span>\u00a0of all things from the beginning; and his\u00a0mother<\/span>\u00a0shall be called Mary<\/p>\n And lo, he cometh unto his own, that\u00a0salvation<\/span>\u00a0might come unto the children of men even through\u00a0faith<\/span>\u00a0on his name; and even after all this they shall consider him a man, and say that he hath a\u00a0devil<\/span>, and shall\u00a0scourge<\/span>\u00a0him, and shall\u00a0crucify<\/span>\u00a0him.<\/p>\n And he shall rise<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0third<\/span>\u00a0day from the dead; and behold, he standeth to\u00a0judge<\/span>\u00a0the world; and behold, all these things are done that a righteous judgment might come upon the children of men.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n President Nelson shared a message which includes names of Jesus Christ and His purpose concerning us<\/h3>\n********* ** *********The transcript of President Nelson\u2019s message isn\u2019t available yet, but a video of his message is.<\/p>\n " " " "
