YOUR PERSONAL SABBATH

Even if you have a daily prayer or meditation practice, a Sabbath could enrich your life.

It doesn’t have to be an entire day. It doesn’t have to be once a week. What if you set aside even one day a month to focus on your spiritual blossoming, like tending a garden?

You might have to ask those around you to cooperate in allowing this period of rest or silence. You might have to leave home. You might have to get a sitter for children or pets.

You might explain to them, or not, that this period of time is entirely for you and your spiritual renewal.

God created the world in six days, according to the Genesis myth, so here are six ideas for creating your own Sabbath:
