5. Return power to states to make educational decisions and abolish Common Core

Giving power back to the parents will do nothing if the state they live in is powerless. That’s why DeVos will push for the federal government to remove its hand and allow states to make the right decisions for citizens.

“I think you’ll see a concerted effort to return decision-making back to states,” Patru said.

DeVos supporter Tim Phillips of Americans for Prosperity calls her “someone who understands that better outcomes can’t be dictated from Washington.”

We’ve seen how devastating Common Core has been for our schools and DeVos is committed to its abolishment in favor of “high standards, strong accountability, and local control.” In her on words, Common Core became “a federalized boondoggle.”

America should get behind DeVos because her policies will shake up our public school system and frankly, that’s exactly what it needs right now.
