There’s a lot of debate about this, but based on what the Bible teaches about lust and the statistics related to the destructive ramifications of porn, there’s no place for porn in your marriage. I talk about this in more detail and share examples and stats in my post on “The Truth about Porn” which you can read by clicking here. Jesus said that to look at someone lustfully is to commit adultery in your heart. It’s an act of mental infidelity. Porn, even when watched together with your spouse, brings other people into the marriage bed and into your minds. It might feel like it’s spicing things up in the moment, but the longterm impacts will be negative.

Porn desensitizes us from experiencing true intimacy. It reduces sexual intimacy as an act and it replaces love with lust. Lust looks at others as objects to be used for our own pleasure; love looks at others as souls to be cherished. Don’t let lust creep into your marriage. Keep your eyes and your thoughts focused on each other. Don’t just be physically monogamous; be mentally monogamous too! It will make a big difference in your marriage.
