Solidarity with Ukraine

I borrowed this from Aaron Nelson, who either created it himself or borrowed it from somebody else. I hope that he’s okay with my stealing it.

Cody Quirk has kindly brought to my attention a report in the Salt Lake Tribune indicating that the professional ex-Latter-day Saint podcaster John Dehlin makes at least $236,000 per year for his efforts.  Clearly, I chose the wrong line of work.

I was very surprised and even moved at Saturday Night Live‘s opening segment this past weekend:

Ukraine Cold Open – SNL

And I was also surprised and moved to see that Switzerland has adjusted its longstanding neutrality in order to take a stance against Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and that Sweden — Sweden! — is sending highly effective battlefield missiles to the Ukrainian military.  (Had you, by the way, heard about Russia’s threat to crash the International Space Station down upon the United States or a European country and about its saber-rattling against, believe it or not, Sweden and Finland?)

But, also this past weekend, I was appalled to see Congressperson Marjorie Taylor Greene (QAnon-Georgia) defy the threat of Jewish space lasers in order to speak in person at Nick Fuentes’s America First Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida.  (Please watch the very brief video here, in which Mr. Fuentes — who wishes that Vladimir Putin were president of the United States and calls Mr. Putin “my Czar” — asks for a round of applause from his audience in honor of Russia, and then listens beamingly to chants of “Putin! Putin! Putin!”)  The regrettable Representative Paul Gosar (R-Arizona) also spoke at AFPAC, but his appearance was apparently virtual.

I became a Republican, by the way, when I turned eighteen years of age.  I am a very, very serious free market, federalist, limited-government conservative.  I have never voted for a Democrat.  (Full disclosure, though: Beginning in 2016, I haven’t voted the straight Republican ticket.)  I believe that the Republican leadership of Congress desperately, desperately, needs to do something about certain of its members:

“‘I’ve got morons on my team’: Romney blasts fellow GOP members for attending White nationalist event and supporting Putin”

I find Greene and Gosar’s willingness to participate in a conference led by Nick Fuentes and punctuated with praise for Vladimir Putin absolutely disgusting.  To my even greater dismay, though, I spent more time over the weekend than I should have responding to a small handful of folks on Facebook who were unhappy with my criticisms here of President Putin.  He is, it seems, simply defending Holy Mother Russia, its civilization, and its Christian culture against the New World Order and, very specifically, against the World Health Organization and its evil regime of vaccinations.  The focus of evil in the modern world, I learned, is Klaus Schwab, not Vladimir Putin and not even Lex Luthor or Auric Goldfinger.  It appears that Prof. Dr. Schwab stands at the apex of a shadowy worldwide conspiracy that makes the Bilderbergers, the Illuminati, John Wilkes Booth and his fellow Jesuit assassins, the Danites, Solomon Lane and the Syndicate, the authors of the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, and the shapeshifting lizard people who run the Vatican look like rank amateurs and humanitarians.

But Mr. Putin wasn’t compelled to launch his Ukrainian peacekeeping operation solely by his need to combat Anthony Fauci.  Oh no.  The Ukrainians were evidently creating bio-weapons with which to invade Russia.  Or something like that.

Now, conventional thinkers who get their news from controlled sources such as the BBC, the Washington Post, CBS, NBC, the New York Times, ABC, CNN, the Wall Street Journal, Fox News, the Economist, and Vladimir Putin’s public speeches won’t likely have heard of the bio-weapons laboratories that so frightened Mr. Putin.  And that could possibly be because they don’t exist:

“Fact check: False claim of US biolabs in Ukraine tied to Russian disinformation campaign: The claim: There are biolabs in Ukraine funded by the US government”

“Russia is targeting U.S. biological weapons labs in Ukraine invasion. There are no US-run biolabs in Ukraine, contrary to social media posts”

“Don’t fall for these hoaxes about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine”

“US official: Russian invasion of Ukraine risks release of dangerous pathogens”

“Is Putin targeting US bioweapon labs in Ukraine? The TRUTH behind Internet theory: The labs in question are part of a network of facilities linked to the Biological Threat Reduction Program, a US-government-funded effort”

It’s certainly striking that Vladimir Putin hasn’t made a big public deal about them.  After all, I have to say that, had Mr. Putin made such a case for his Ukrainian intervention — a desperately needed defensive action to take out bio-weapons labs in Ukraine — he would have drawn considerable support internationally.  Even I, slave of Klaus Schwab that I am, would have understood it.  But maybe Mr. Putin, a noble hero who perhaps wishes to avoid the limelight, simply didn’t want to mention the Ukrainian bio-weapons laboratories.  Still, is this plausible?  Would he really not mention them?  Absolutely.  There is plenty of precedent:  For example, although he alleged horrible mistreatment of ethnic Russians living in Ukraine as one of the justifications for his “special military operation,” Mr. Putin never sought to rally international outrage against such abuse.  He never shared any of his (no doubt abundant) evidence for it with the world at large.  He never went to the United Nations with photographs or statistics or eyewitnesses.

Maybe he’s just modest, or maybe he doesn’t have a good public-relations assistant.  Because, as things stand, he’s explained his peacekeeping efforts in Ukraine as an attempt to rein in the drug-addled, genocidal, sometimes Jewish neo-Nazis who govern the country and to ward off NATO aggression.  He hasn’t appealed to us to join in his wholly justifiable defense against ghastly bio-weapons.

In the meantime, I hope that Nick Fuentes and his “young white men” and the people who have been expressing to me their support for Vladimir Putin and his invasion of Ukraine will take a look at such things as this, and reflect upon them:

“‘Show this to Putin’: A 6-year-old girl killed in Ukraine”

I have to be completely honest here:  I have roughly the same degree of patience for, and the same attitude toward, American and Canadian supporters of Vladimir Putin here at the end of February 2022 that I would have had for defenders of the German Führer Adolf Hitler in the 1930s.  And for pretty much the same reasons.  Some things are beyond the pale.

Слава Україні!
