Responding to my request for a Cuban Christmas song, my Havana-born daughter-in-law suggests this one, Felicidades, by the Cuban-American singer Gloria Estefan:

Cuba proper, under the rule of the Brothers Castro, hasn’t been a very favorable place for Christmas meditations or celebrations, so it’s fitting, I suppose, that we turn for a Christmas song to the Cuban exile community.

Coro:

Felicidad en estas navidades
Happiness in these christmas’s

Felicidad!!!!! (x2)
Happiness
—————-
Es el tiempo del encuentro
Its the time of meeting

Con lo mejor que hay en nuestro corazn
With the best there is in our heart

Del perdon ydel recuerdo
Of forgiveness and regarding

De la reconciliacin
Of reconcilliation

Del abrazo generoso
Of the generous embrace

De la palabra que lleno de emocin
Of the word full of emotion
—————
Coro:

Porque el paso de la vida
Because the passage of life

Te va mostrando el camino a donde va
Showing you the way to go

Esa fuerza de cario
This strength of affection

Que encuentra la verdad
That finding of truth

If you confront your destiny

La mala suerte se va y no vuelve ms
