Me in a nutshell
Last updated on: March 2, 2016 at 2:51 pm By Dave Griffey
At least according to an always balanced and unbiased observer of current events. “Militarism, social policy hostile to the poor, the rejection of varied forms of ensuring health care for everyone have all been wildly a part of conservative Catholicism- one needs only read your blog and your fanboys at The American Catholic, First Things, Dreher in his Catholic days and so on.” Heh. I enjoy the world of Social Media. Again, as my boys say, Donald Trump is everything... Read more

It’s about time Dr. Moore.
Last updated on: March 2, 2016 at 10:41 am By Dave Griffey
The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Main Library I couldn’t help notice this story. The source is RawStory, a hard left propaganda news magazine, but I checked to make sure it was accurate, and it appears it is. Dr. Russell Moore is disavowing the label “Evangelical”. He is doing so because of Trump and those Evangelical leaders willing to throw all pretense of consistent standards under the bus in order to support Trump at all costs. This amazes me, and I’ll tell... Read more

Don’t be surprised if Goebbels is behind a film that portrays Jews with negative stereotypes. If you live in the United States in 2010s, don’t be surprised if Dan Savage is behind a television show that portrays Catholics with negative stereotypes. Dan Savage reminds you of the utter hypocrisy that the Left wallows in on a daily basis, as liberals run about crying over how horrible Donald Trump is. Apparently they’ve not listened to Savage. Dan is one of those... Read more

One of the greatest barriers to eliminating racism isn’t racists, but those who exploit or even encourage racism for their own gain. We can’t have enough cases where those who shamelessly exploit or even promote such a heinous evil as racism purely for political or personal gain are called out on the carpet at best, charged with the crimes they deserve at worst. Donald Trump does his best to defeat Trump
Last updated on: March 1, 2016 at 6:00 am By Dave Griffey
Donald Trump, the number one advocate for not choosing Trump, has dragged his feet and when it comes to disavowing David Duke’s endorsement of his candidacy. In most elections, simply receiving such an endorsement would be poison. If the candidate ran to the microphones and condemned the endorsement within five minutes, it could still spell the end of a political career. But Trump blathers about, says he might not know who anyone is talking about, drags his feet, says he’ll think it over... Read more

Last updated on: February 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm By Dave Griffey
Thanks for being with me through all the years of crazy. When I consider your amazing patience with me, I think of nothing so much as this commercial: I’ll be pretty much gone for the rest of the month. Anniversary duties and whatnot. Thanks for visiting, I’ve loved the feedback, emails and comments. They make me smarter, and sometimes a bit more humble, for the insights. I’ll be back on Tuesday. God bless, and TTFN. Read more

Critiquing Pope Francis
Last updated on: February 26, 2016 at 1:50 pm By Dave Griffey
Is being discussed over at the always interesting The American Catholic. Donald McClarey points to Amy Welborn, one of the pioneers of the Catholic Blogosphere Apologetics World. She was there before I ever stumbled by. Since Mark Shea gave her more than a few thumbs up, and his was the first Catholic Blog (in fact, first Blog) I ever visited or commented on, that was enough for me. I have always found her writings to be of a sincere kind,... Read more

It’s Friday Politics!
Last updated on: February 26, 2016 at 12:18 pm By Dave Griffey
It’s Friday and I can’t help but notice I’ve mostly focused on Politics as opposed to, well, anything else. Oh well. Politics is a big thing, and I’m too much of a team player to run to the hills and let the world blow itself up. Not that avoiding belonging to parties is itself a problem. It isn’t. There can be very noble and virtuous reasons to avoid party affiliation. There can also be nasty ones. Just like belonging to... Read more
