Bookshelf

This page contains a list of books on religion and theology that I recommend. I’ll add books to it over time, as I write about them on the blog.

Books about St. Thomas Aquinas

St. Thomas Aquinas: The Dumb Ox, by G. K. Chesterton. This is a good first book about St. Thomas. It’s in the public domain, so it’s available in print from a number of publishers, and as e-book at prices starting at free and working up from there.

Thomas Aquinas, by Denys Turner. This is currently my favorite second book about St. Thomas. It paints a portrait of Thomas, and discusses some of his teachings in non-technical language (though it’s still somewhat challenging).
