DC’s ethics system might be even more corrupt than we thought. In this week’s Swamp Watch, Fox News’ Steve Hilton breaks down just how broken the system really is.

He begins by saying, “You may have heard of an effort to charge President Trump with corruption, by using something called the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution.  The accusation is that by allowing foreign dignitaries to stay in Trump hotels in Washington D.C., the Trump administration is violating the Constitutional ban on payments from foreign governments to federal office holders.”

If you haven’t read the Constitution lately, the Emoluments Clause reads:

No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.

President Trump has already said he’d donate any profits from these dignitaries staying at his hotel to the Treasury Department, but that doesn’t assuage his critics fears.  Hilton goes on to ask “Is there an ethical double standard here?”

To ask the question is to answer it.  Watch his segment below, which deals with the broken ethics system of our federal government:

Why do we continue to give these people power?

With an Article V Convention of States, We the People can reduce the power, size, and scope of the federal government, ensuring that no matter how ethically corrupt federal officials get, they won’t have the power to control the daily lives of the American people.
