Does God Still Love Satan?

Did God ever love Satan or Lucifer? Does God still love him now that’s he’s totally bent on doing evil?
The Devil is a Liar
Jesus doesn’t seem to say loving things about Satan as He said about the self-righteous “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies’” (John 8:44). He also told them “You are doing the works of your own father.” “We are not illegitimate children,” they protested. “The only Father we have is God himself” (John 8:41). They acted like they knew God but Jesus said “Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and obey his word” (John 8:55). He lied from the beginning, going all the way back to when he deceived Eve into taking of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, lying to her “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman” (Gen 3:4)? Paul was concerned that the Corinthians would fall for the same lying tactic, telling them “I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ” (2nd Cor 11:3).
The Devil is our Enemy
Paul had many dealings with those who were doing the work of Satan and once said “You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord” (Acts 13:10)? Whoever says that they know God but live contrary to the truth and law of God is also a liar as the Apostle John writes “Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person” (1st John 2:4). Clearly, “The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work” (1st John 3:8). John asks, how will we know who are the children of God and who are the Devil’s own, it is by this: “This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister” (1st John 3:10). Could it be any clearer than that?
The Devil is God’s Enemy
Matthew 13:8 shows that Satan is clearly the enemy of God as evidenced in the Parable of the Weeds, “The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one.” In explaining the Parable of the Weeds, Jesus attributes the weeds being sown into the wheat to Satan as He said “but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away” (Matt 13:25). In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus said “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path” (Matt 13:19). Satan even has his own ministers and his own churches and it should be “no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2nd Cor 11:14). Our struggle is not with men and women persecuting us but “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Eph 6:12).
Does God Love Satan?
Let me ask you, if you are a Christian, do you love Satan? Do you love what he does to people? Do you love the way he distorts the truth and even has his own ministers? I can say with authority that I do not love Satan and since God is pure, righteous, and holy, He cannot love that which is by nature evil. It wouldn’t seem to make sense for God to love Satan. Maybe He did before he fell from grace and was cast down to the earth, I don’t know, but I do believe, based upon Scripture, that God most likely does not love Satan although I can’t say that with absolute authority. The more important issue is that He loves you with an everlasting love. He does love you if you have been born again and so we should display this love for Him since “he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves” (Col 1:13).
Conclusion
Jeremiah writes” Jeremiah writes “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you” (Jer 31:3). Even of His repeatedly disobedient people God says “I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them” (Hosea 11:4). God loved the world so much that He sent His sinless Son into the world to die for those who would repent and trust in Him (John 3:16). Is that you? If not, then you will be separated forever from God and from all others for all eternity (Rev 21:8).
