Crisis of Faith

Last updated on: October 26, 2023 at 9:58 am   By Mark Wilson

One of the great trends among Catholic writers on social media is to find other fellow baptized Catholics or groups online, pick out something they have said or written about the faith and then proceed to pick them apart like a lion eating a zebra. The unquenchable desire to admonish the perceived heretic is as strong as the force is in Anakin Skywalker. I sometimes feel this hunger myself when I see other Catholics uncharitably critiquing Pope Francis, frowning on... Read more

3rd Order Promises LWIL # 42

Last updated on: November 19, 2023 at 11:14 am   By Mark Wilson

Recently I started going to a Catholic Men’s group to enhance my spiritual life. My wife this past Sunday made final promises as a secular Carmelite (OCDS). She spends all day praying, doing house work while I’m at the nursing home doing whatever I need to do that day. She doesn’t get involved in lame internet drama. She doesn’t decide who is right with God and who isn’t. She doesn’t bliber blab about how confusing and aweful the Pope is.... Read more

Praying For Peace In the Middle East -LWIL # 41

Last updated on: November 19, 2023 at 11:13 am   By Mark Wilson

The Week started out tragically last week and spilled over into this week as violence and war continued to dominate the news and history. May the peace that God desires for all humanity be realized before too many more innocent lives are lost by the conflict between the leaders who lead their people. . , @dismasop (October 9, 2023) A lot of people are going to have very visceral reactions to the Gaza-Israel conflict, because it’s very personal for them.... Read more

Making The Write Choice Asking The Write Questions

Last updated on: October 11, 2023 at 8:38 pm   By Mark Wilson

The day I finished this post on October 6th is the anniversary of Kristin and I moving to RI. The day that it is being published is on the 2nd anniversary of working at my job at St. Elizabeth Home. It’s been two years since leaving Massachusetts. I’m publishing this when I am so I can have my obligatory 2 posts I’ve dedicated to writing each week. If I published it on  10-6-23 I would have 3 posts that particular... Read more

Lessons in October 2023 Movie Chemistry

Last updated on: November 19, 2023 at 11:11 am   By Mark Wilson

It is always exciting for a movie and tv fanboy to see what is coming our way to the small or big screen. So here is a list of what creative and corporate, truly independent and commercial filmmakers, actors and others have produced that is coming out. I wrote this while the hollywood actors and writers strike was still going on. It might be over by now. Maybe? This is meant as a reference guide to what is out there,... Read more

Week In Review Emotional Support Animal LWIL # 39

Last updated on: November 19, 2023 at 11:07 am   By Mark Wilson

We all need some support emotionally in life to help us get through. This week this wonderful four legged friend with big teeth is the friend you need. If Benedict Arnold had had him as a companion maybe he wouldn’t have hiked off to Canada. Or Machine Gun Kelly could have used him to lift him up as he shot at the FBI. He would make a great mascot for Jimmy Akin’s Mysterious World. I’m sure Pope John Paul 2... Read more

Does Wanting To Throw the Pope Into The Sea Make You A More Loving Catholic?

Last updated on: October 1, 2023 at 9:11 pm   By Mark Wilson

Does going to the Traditional Latin Mass  instead of the Novus Ordo Mass make you a holier, happier and more spiritually healthy person? Does rejecting the Second Vatican Council make you more loving towards your neighbor? Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 1 JOHN 4:20 Maria Elena@MariaElenaJMJ (Sep 20, 2023) The... Read more
