Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
For their short pithy brilliant whimsical way of saying things, I love to collect Twitter and other Quality Quintessential quips, quotes, questions, musings and maxims from the furthest reaches of the internet to the obscure book hidden in the dusty corner of some long forgotten book store and save them for a rainy day post. I just might need some wonderful wordful beauty to express a sentiment or idea in what I’m writing so I created this particular post with that purpose in mine.
Tweeting to the Choir: A Collection of Tweets
Janet@Mystagogy1013: Tweeting to the choir gives us all support and encouragement, which is much needed in these days.
This peculiarly particular post is the offspring of that larger post with a more specific focus in mind from a topic listed in that larger post. It is also but one of the many children of that post. You can go big or go home to this shorter post and pluck what you need from the collected treasure of the Broad Chorus of Catholic Thinkers and similar like minded individuals and insert it into whatever it is your working on at the moment. Or perhaps you just might want to read a short something that will put a chuckle, a prayer or a nifty thought into your brain. And perhaps any truth beauty or goodness may leak into your soul making you a more loving, faithful and hopeful person and draw you closer to Christ.
In this post were Tweeting to the Choir about this particular guy.
Fake Tyler@FakeTylerV: I pity the fool who doesn’t listen to@CatholicGuyShow

In some stories you have a certain character set aside for comic relief. In the Catholic world you have set aside Lino Rulli for comic relief. He is not a theologian or catechist. He is an entertainer who is Catholic and makes his living bringing out the beauty and humor of the Catholic faith. He is the Catholic Guy and has been entertaining radio listeners on Sirus XM’s Catholic Channel since 2006. Funny, reverent and a whole lot of fun is Lino Rulli. And on Twitter there are various accounts linked to his. I call this the…

“I get in my head so much about how bad my sins are that I forget to keep the big picture in mind that God is there with more mercy than I could ever understand.” – Lino Rulli
The Catholic Guy Show
Catholic Guy Show@catholicguyshow: (Jun 21, 2022) Some people listen to@linorulliand enjoy it. Other wonder why he has a show. As one anonymous emailer wrote “Why he is on the air, I do not understand. Perhaps being Italian he’s blackmailed (Cardinal Dolan) or has dirt on Church leaders that he will reveal if let go.”
Catholic Guy Show@catholicguyshow:
Updates from Lino Rulli’s The Catholic Guy. Show airs M-F from 4-6 pm ET and replays 8-10pm ET on The Catholic Channel, Sirius XM 129
Catholic Guy Episode 100: Pope Resigns, Colonoscopies, Biblical Resumes, and Praying For The Dead!
LINO RULLI
Lino Rulli@linorulli: I am a man with a large nose. And a radio show on SiriusXM.
When the Pope is elected, the Cardinal should come out with an envelope and say “And the Successor of St Peter goes to…” #oscars
When I met the Pope last week, I said (in Italian): “I pray for you all the time.”
To which he replied, “For me or against me?”
I had to lean in closer to understand if I heard him correctly. And then I busted out laughing.
Was still laughing when he gave me a rosary.
Lino’s Witty Exchanges
Lino Rulli@linorulli (Jun 14, 2022): Its not Christmas, but this is why our producer Tyler is a true gift:
He actually thought the song was called Round Young Virgin.
Bears Are Fast@bearsarefast (Jun 14, 2022) This Day in BearsAreFast History: [2/6] Round Young Virgin – a description of the pregnant, youthful, and motherly Virgin Mary in the classic Christmas song “Silent Night”.
Example: “Of course the song says, ‘Round, young virgin, mother and child.” Who says “yon?”” (6/14/19)
Lino’s Books
Lino Rulli@linorulli Someone just emailed me that my book Sinner is 10 years old. And while it isn’t ranked in books about Catholicism or Biography… It’s ranked in the Terrorism category. Rude.
You see, I believe everything the Church teaches. That puts me in a minority, in and of itself. I’m just not great at being faithful to everything the Church teaches. I don’t have a problem with doctrine or dogma. I have a problem with me. I want to be more faithful, but I’m scared. Scared that I’ll try and fail. And in some ways even more scared that I’ll succeed. What if I become such a good, holy Catholic that I wouldn’t really want to hang out with me?
Down deep, I love God with all my heart, mind, and strength. But you’ll have to take my word for it since you can’t usually tell. In truth, the only thing that keeps me from going completely crazy is the Catholic Church. I haven’t always felt God’s presence. In fact, I don’t feel God’s presence all that often. I feel alone lots of days. But the Church has always been there. And that’s where I’ve learned about God. Without the Church, I’d be a complete train wreck, not the small five-car derailment I am today.
Lino Rulli, Sinner: The Catholic Guy’s Funny, Feeble Attempts to Be a Faithful Catholic (2011) St. Anthony Messenger Press .
Some dude who lived in Transylvania in the 1200s and died of the plague might have been holier than holy, but unless he converted Count Dracula, he’s not inspiring the majority of us these days. So I say, canonize me. In spite of my shortcomings and horrible mistakes (known in Church circles as “mortal sins”), you could identify with a St. Lino: A guy who does and says lots of stupid things. A saint who took seven spring breaks, though he was in college for only four years. A saint who isn’t interested in converting a count — though he does have, oddly, recurring dreams of Count Chocula chasing him with a lawnmower. A saint who celebrates his oddities and failures in the hope that he can encourage his brothers and sisters to join God in heaven. That’s me. That’s a saint you can relate to.

CIO of Life Teen, Co-host of “The Catholic Guy Show” on SiriusXM, Author, Speaker, ND Alum ☘️. Go Irish! I own a Bible that smells of rich mahogany.
When people annoy me I try to remember that Jesus called me to be a light. So then I like to pretend I’m the Pixar light… and I’m jumping on people’s heads.
God will put someone in your path today who doesn’t necessarily need you… but who desperately needs Christ in you. Be prepared. Pay attention. It’s not an inconvenience, it’s your mission.
Our Not-Quite-Holy Family: A Practical Guide for Catholic Parents (2021) by Mark Hart and Melanie Hart
Slowly, she lowered her beautiful naked body into the bathtub. You weren’t expecting a “Catholic parenting book” to begin with that sentence, were you? Well, this isn’t your typical Catholic parenting book, so keep reading. . . .
Nothing can ready you, as a couple, for your first pregnancy or experience of childbirth. You can read all the books and take all the classes. Those things help, but nothing can properly prepare someone for all that childbirth (and child-rearing) brings with it. Whether the birth occurs in a hospital or at home, naturally or with an epidural, everyone has a story, and every story is unique. In the end, the entire experience is like a beautiful car accident: there is terror and noise, screaming and fluids (oh, so many fluids), trained medical professionals, possibly some scarring, and your life is forever different afterward. Obviously, we jest . . . sort of.

Giraffes Are Like Werewolves
Giraffes Are Like Werewolves@GiraffesAreFast·
Catholic and a Giraffe! Typing with hooves ain’t easy!
@LT_TheBiblegeek you’re right that Easter doesn’t seem as big as Christmas or Halloween… but that’s also because of how commercialized those have become.
Not sure we want Christ’s Resurrection to go down quite the same path.
Found an interesting use for my iMissal app… cueing up the Nicene Creed for a coworker who honestly didn’t know (& had asked) if Catholics believed in Jesus.

“You said goodbye to your family and friends because you might not come back. It was a dangerous thing to do. There were robbers, looters, and thieves… and that’s just the people working in the Church.” – Lino Rulli on going on pilgrimage in the 14th century
Cardinal Dolan@CardinalDolan–May 2: I’m continuing on my journey to let the refugees from Ukraine know that we love them. I have to pass it on to you, because I’ve heard it again and again: “Tell the folks of the United States how grateful we are for their help.” Thank you!
