A Blank Catholic Writers Unfocused Mind 2022-11-30T01:12:46-05:00 Mark Wilson
Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.
I was originally going to write an intro for a blog post of piffy nifty Twitter quotes, but it turned in to this. Often I write things spontaneously out of the blue when I finally do write something. That is the overall scope of this article, Writing.
I think I wrote more blog articles in 2021 then I am so far in 2022. I even wrote more in 2020. Or at least I think I wrote more in-depth type articles. In 2019 I didn’t write that much at all. As a writer I wish to continue to produce interesting quality content. A writer must keep on writing.
But my mind feels blank with no motivational energy to read, research, and reflect on material worthy enough of a blog post.

It seems I’m not alone in this. This might be me, but regardless I can relate on some level.
Recently, things have just been crazy, I still conceptualize and nurture stuffs in my mind, but outputting these stuffs have virtually been impossible. And this is a very big problem for me, as my mind is constantly in a state of disorganization. If my mind was actually visible, it will look like a work-table where everything is messed up, and nothing is sort out. Or a one of those highly networked fiber-optic layer of multi-crossed cables, which are just spun into one another, and cannot be separated from each other. Simply put my mind is a mess, because my body is lazy. or should I say “The spirit is Willing, but the body is weak”. I actually wish there was a technology that I could just hook myself to, and it would just bring up everything in my mind, in a orderly manner that will be easily understandable.Greatest Joswil: What makes me “ME”: An Empty Head, And An Empty Mind.
When I conjure up some energy, I can usually pull something together. But lately it has been organized, edited and I hope neatly put together lists of things. It might be a list of upcoming movies, books to read, historical events or the thoughts of one particular person, and sometimes many different people. I assemble others thoughts quite nicely, but have trouble coming up with nifty thoughts of my own. But sometimes I do, as this post I think exemplifies.
I also want to write fiction and would again if I could get beyond the initial idea of something. I might come up with characters or situations or maybe a plot, but never a structured whole of something. If I thought I would be serious about writing I would sign up for Masterclass for knowledge and motivation to actually do it. I would resurrect my video making abilities and make YouTube videos. But I know I’m not serious so I don’t invest the money which means I would have to invest the time.
I think my life is rather ordinary and regular. Which isn’t bad in the grand scheme of things, but it doesn’t produce much to write about. And if I’m too tired and unfocused to read, watch or listen to books, movies, or podcasts, I’m too tired to offer a meaningful reflection and review of those said material which would probably produce some sweet content.
But I press on regardless. Assembling lists of beautiful things and pithy sayings of unique individuals is where my mind is at the moment. Perhaps it will get better. God forbid it actually gets worse. I’m not dead yet, but the youthful energy I once had is fading, if it hasn’t already.
This blank un-focusness doesn’t just affect my reading and writing, it also effects my prayer life. I I’m not motivated to reach out to family and friends as much as I have done in the past because to concentrate and listen seems rather challenging at times. I have become more of an introvert in the last decade when I was more of an extrovert in my younger years. I also feel more insecure and anxious in talking to people then I have in the past. Sometimes when I read or pray, I start to get drowsy. So, there is that also. The same thing happens with prayer. What is the solution? More prayer? Mind over Matter? Getting some help for my sleep?

It might have to do with lack of sleep, indecisiveness, ADHD, an addiction to social media, working too much at my day job, and just old age. My spouse thinks I am on the spectrum which could have something to do with it. If it is true, which it might not be. She was at the doctors today and instead of reading some of the books I got at the library for my book discussion group, as I was in the waiting room, I browsed FB and Twitter. My time management skills are lacking.

I suppose this blog post is writing something somewhat focused even if it is writing about how I can’t properly write something or do other related types of things that require concentration. I could look back at this in months or years and will have either progressed further down the hole of nothingness or will climb further up the ladder of creativity. Or perhaps I’ll just stay where I am. Maybe I’ll produce great piffy thoughts like this…
owen cyclops (+)@owenbroadcast: if i was an ancient philosopher back when u could write anything i would write that babies are soft + fleshy because they eat from a boob, which transfers those qualities to them, + id make up a story about a baby from tunisia who drank from a stone cup + became hard and
then later medieval philosophers would cite me like “in ‘natal theology’ by owenius a certain tale of a tunisian baby is recorded wherein …”
And I don’t know if this post will actually help anyone in a similar place in life, but if you are blank in your mind also, you’re not alone.

There is more I could say, but Kristin says my posts are too long. There is less I could have said, but I needed to vent my mind of my blank thoughts. It’s out of my mind and perhaps it will help clear the road for future projects. I can only go forward.
Now it’s time to create some more blog posts with lists of different interesting things.
Like this short list of creative writers either of the written word, various other media, games, or charitable endeavors.

Thoughty2 – YouTube
I don’t agree with everything Thoughty2 (Arran) says, but overall he is worth watching and listening to. He is a British YouTuber and gatekeeper of useless facts. Thoughty2 creates mind-blowing factual videos, on the weirdest, wackiest and most interesting topics. Some language may be in the content.
