Election Day 2012 Round-Up 2012-11-06T09:05:45-07:00 Caryn Riswold

LOGO Patheos Explore the world's faith through different perspectives on religion and spirituality! Patheos has the views of the prevalent religions and spiritualities of the world.

Finally!  Time to vote (if you aren’t among the very many who have done so already).  I decided to round-up a list of the pieces I’ve written over the past few months that most pertain to the election today.

First, responses to the four Patheos Election Month questions.  This was a great series, generating a lot of response from various bloggers here at Patheos.  Check them all out.  Here are mine:

1:  What’s wrong–and what’s right–with the role of faith in American politics today?

Religious Freedom is for Everyone

2:  Does a candidate’s faith matter?

Presidential Faith: When Difference Matters

3:  What are the key issues for people of your tradition to consider as they approach this election?

Poverty & Our Shared Humanity

4:  For whom will you vote for President, and why?

Barack Obama, Once More

As soon as Mitt Romney picked Paul Ryan as his running mate back in August, I knew religion was going to be even more of an issue in this election.  I wrote this about it all:

RomneyRyanObamaBiden ~ Religion & Politics Overload

Additionally, I posted a series of prayers compiled by Faith Aloud, for the 40 days leading up to the election … prayers to end the War on Women.  Here was the first set:

This Week in Pro-Choice Prayer

Beyond that, I wrote a variety of posts on other issues relevant to the election as they emerged.  These are just a few.

On GOP men talking nonsense about rape:

If Only Mourdock Were Rare

Todd Akin, Paul Ryan, and The Rapist

On the probable illegality of a Catholic Bishop threatening the faithful with damnation if they vote for Barack Obama (and if only he were rare!):

Vote Wrong & Go to Hell?

On why race still matters, even when (and probably because) white folks ignore it:

The War on Black Women

Race Still Matters.  Religion … Maybe.

Read.  Listen.  Share.

And if you haven’t done so already … VOTE!
