I’ve avoided commenting on the fact that BuzzFeed decided to stir up controversy over the fact that Chip and Joanna Gaines’ pastor opposes same-sex marriage and calls homosexuality a sin.

Why? Well, because I’m tired of people thinking I’m anti gay – I honestly don’t care what sexual orientation anyone is. I have gay friends!

But I decided to speak out, because I’m so tired of the double standard in today’s society. I think everyone kind of is.

Chip and Jo seem like the most wonderful people – they shouldn’t be discriminated against and “labeled” because of their religion.

The people who do this – and cause this controversy are always the same people that say “embrace everyone” and things like “equality for all.” But if someone even HINTS at the idea that they don’t agree with them, well watch out. They are the first ones to cry, throw fits, label people… and — of course — end up throwing the most hate.

I loved Chip’s tweets and his response to this all. And he is right about it all! We must trust in the Lord – and family truly is everything:

I hope this show gains even more popularity, I hope their businesses soar and God gives them peace and calmness through the storm their facing now because of the hate being thrown at them.
