So often during the Christmas season, we are bombarded with news stories about Scrooges and Grinches who are trying to ruin the Christmas season for the rest of us by protesting nativity scenes.

That is why I was so surprised when I saw this story about a McDonald’s in Tennessee!

A McDonald’s in Spring Hill, Tennessee gained a lot of attention after the restaurant was decorated for the holidays.

A window at the McDonald’s features a painted Nativity scene with the phrase, “His name is Jesus.”

Tony Wolfe and Gina Wolfe own the McDonald’s with four others in the Tennessee area.

“It’s a family business which has been owned and operated by my family for 40 years. My dad started this 40 years ago when he had a local art student paint it on his store. My husband and I have been owners for 28 years and we’ve done this or something similar during Christmas each year,” Gina Wolfe told WZTV on Thursday. “We have so many people that tell us it really kicks off the season for them when they see it on our stores. We are so pleased people enjoy it.”

Wow!  Way to go Wolfe family!

It’s amazing that they haven’t let the politically correct culture silence the true meaning of Christmas for their family, their business, and their community.  We need more business owners who are willing to boldly put their faith on display this Christmas season, in a loving way that points the watching world towards our Savior.

When Jesus was born, it changed everything. Our calendars revolve around this event and yet far too many Scrooges try to erase Jesus from our memories. But families like the Wolfes encourage me when they let the love and joy of Jesus affect everything they do – including their work.

I think our communities would all be better off with more examples like this, pointing the way to the baby in the manger, sent to save the entire world.
