How could anyone think killing a newborn is okay?

Pro-life groups have been seeing more college students who think even post-birth abortion is okay.

“Post-birth abortion”? Let’s just call it what it is — killing a newborn baby.

It’s literally unbelievable that someone could say that’s just fine, because a little baby isn’t “self-aware” yet. But that’s not even true — studies show that babies still inside their mother respond to pain [support], and newborns certainly are aware of their surroundings.

Also, what happens to the “it’s just a lump of cells” and “a woman has rights over her own body” argument — once the baby is out of the womb? Shows what they really think. It doesn’t matter whether or not it’s a baby at all!

People who want to defend life have been made fun of for using the “slippery slope” argument, but this proves that it’s true. If you don’t value life from the very start, it’s just a short step to not valuing it at any step along the way.

Mark Harrington, director of a group called Created Equal, said “This is the whole problem with devaluing human life at any stage—it will naturally grow to include other groups of humans; in this case, born humans as well as preborn humans. …[I] talked with one young man at the University of Minnesota who thought it was alright to kill children if they were under the age of 5 years old, as he did not consider them persons until that age.”

Ideas that were called wack-o in the 70s are now being taught in college classes. Peter Singer wrote that a baby’s life was worth less than a dog or chimpanzee because they supposedly couldn’t understand they existed. Today his writing is given as assigned reading.

DISGUSTING! Can’t they find anything better?

Thankfully, more students agree that life begins at conception. When people hear the facts and listen to reason, how could they think any differently?
