Comments for Breathing Space https://www.patheos.com/blogs/breathingspace/ Free faith in the spirit of Jesus Mon, 28 Sep 2026 12:04:51 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.7.1 Comment on Jesus & Lao Tzu: Success is as Dangerous as Failure by Invosmith https://www.patheos.com/blogs/breathingspace/2024/08/jesus-lao-tzu-success-is-as-dangerous-as-failure/#comment-8 Mon, 28 Sep 2026 12:04:51 +0000 https://www.patheos.com/blogs/breathingspace/?p=6186#comment-8 The strongest part for me was “When you allow ego to get in the way, success can be as dangerous as failure”. The later note “He remembers a friend who owes him a small amount of money” makes it more actionable by adding a separate condition to consider. An updated example would help readers judge when each point matters most.

The first frames the immediate issue, while the second keeps the takeaway from becoming too absolute. I would be curious how you would apply that distinction to a recent case.

I also appreciated “The sun rises, and the sun goes down and hurries to the place where it rises”, which points to a boundary readers could otherwise miss. Has your view of that boundary changed since this was published?
