How many times do you say ‘just’ when you pray?

How many times do you say ‘just’ when you pray? 2013-02-15T08:12:39-06:00 Born to Reform

Charles Spurgeon said that, “True prayer is measured by weight, not by length. A single groan before God may have more fullness of prayer in it than a fine oration of great length.”

This is a great reminder for us. How many would say that we spend great lengths in prayer so we can ‘feel’ holy? Or maybe so we can accomplish some of our plans for our life, with God as the magic genie that grants us gifts. I don’t think we would say that out loud, or even in a small group, but sometimes I think that’s in our heart, it’s in mine at least. I want to encourage you to approach prayer with this in mind: It’s not about you, it’s about Him. It’s not about a finely-tuned petition, it’s about the practice of the presence of God.

Prayer is the overflow of the undeserving heart full of gratitude to his/her Creator.
