Daily Witchcraft Challenges

Maybe you are at home with nothing much to do, perhaps you have slipped a little in your practice and don’t know how to get back, see my blog here for Lost Connection
Or perhaps you just like doing little challenges.
There have been a few monthly challenges floating around social media, some asking for photos, drawings or writing. We ran a witchy one recently in our Kitchen Witch facebook group that was focused around the moon phases for a month. I have included the challenge below with some adjustments and additions.
Set it to the moon phases, or just pick and choose the challenges that take your fancy.
Start each day by stepping outside and taking a deep breath in. Feel the energy of the day. What feelings, thoughts or keyword do you feel for the day?
Some of them are quick challenges if you are short of time but I have given longer ones if you prefer. Work with either or both.
The Challenges
- Wear something bright today that makes you happy.
- Colour magic – what colour clothes are you wearing today? Why? And what does the colour mean to you?
- Stand outside and place your palms onto the earth and feel the connection.
- Think about the element of Earth, what chores or daily activities do you do that correspond to the element of Earth?
- Pick an ingredient from your kitchen spice rack and carry some in your pocket or purse today.
- Take a look in your kitchen cupboard and spice rack. What ingredient grabs your attention? Research it and see what magical properties it has.
- Pick a magical book from your collection, flick through the pages and read anything that jumps out at you.
- Pick a magical book from your collection, perhaps one you haven’t read yet and some time working through it.
- At night, stand outside and send a wish up to the waxing moon.
- Create a waxing moon spell or chant to bring something into your life.
- Leave a jar of water out over night to create waxing moon water.
- Leave a jar of water out over night to create waxing moon water. Create a spell to use the water with.
- Pick a flower from your garden, a weed from outside or just a fallen leaf and carry it with you today.
- Choose a flower or plant that you haven’t worked with before, maybe one that is in your garden or that you saw when you were out. Do some research, what magical properties does it have? This meditation may help https://www.patheos.com/blogs/beneaththemoon/2020/01/plant-spirits/
- Look in the mirror and say to yourself “I am fabulous”.
- Write an affirmation. What do you need to boost about yourself? Self-esteem? Confidence? Strength? Work with this affirmation each day.
- Stand outside and send a wish up to the sun.
- Work with the sun today, go outside or look out of the window during the morning and write a chant or create a sun spell to bring something into your life.
- Pick up a pebble or leaf from outside and pop it on your altar.
- Create a nature mandala outside using leaves, flowers, seed heads, pebble, shells, and twigs. Or make one inside using spices and herbs from your food cupboard.
- Stand outside for a couple of minutes and take a few deep breathes in and out.
- Think about the element of Air, what chores or daily activities do you do that correspond to the element of Air?
- Pop outside and hug a tree.
- Choose a tree that you haven’t worked with before, maybe one that is in your garden or that you saw when you were out. Do some research, what magical properties does it have?

- Take a look up at the full moon, what images do you see on her surface?
- Water scrying – fill a dish with water and drop a silver coin in the bottom. Allow the light of the full moon to shine on the surface and read any images or symbols you see.
